What's the deal with the "points" on the website?

Noticed you earn points now for ordering from the website. Looked around the website to find a meaning of these, I assume you redeem them somehow. What are they for, how do you redeem them?
 
The points can be used toward future purchases. Say you buy a 250 dollar knife you will earn 250 points that can be used toward your a future purchase for $2.50 off. Not a whole lot but they add up fast if you purchase a few knives and definitely better than nothing.
 
Yeah, better than nothing. Anyone know if the factory shop offers any kind of military or veteran discount?
 
We've always offered 20% for LEO's and military, current and veterans. You'd have to email proof is all.
 
Sweet! Good incentive for me to get my scanner working.

edit* Can't find my 214, would a scan of my old military and/or current VA IDs be acceptable?

Any answer on this? I emailed the Emerson customer service about military/veteran discount and didn't hear back at all... Good thing there's an Emerson rep here.

Got my answers, thanks EmersonREP. Figured posting my questions here would be easier for EKI, get answers from the knowledgeable community or at least give the Emerson crew a chance to take time to answer them during downtime, rather than call.
