This isn't my auction, so I hope it's ok to post. If not, my apologies, and I'll delete it.
What's the deal with this knife? Several things strike me as odd:
I've never heard of Crandall.
The writing on the box (Case logo, and Crandall Cutlery Company).
Price - I was looking at coke bottle patterns on fleabay, and this one seems to be going for lots cheaper than most nice ones.

Is it legit?
Thanks...

The knife is listed on Case's website so it is legit. It's just one of their lines of knives. Joe

Crandall was a Case related going a long way back(I think one of the Case family members started it). After the original brand faded, Jim Parker started a line under it and a few other old Case trademarks.

Now I guess Case has brought it back, sorta like the Platts's models a while back.

:).

Yep,

Case is reintroducing some of the old family brands again, just as Bob mentioned. Usually with old timey packaging...

As the others have pointed out, it's 100% legit. The Case Crandall Peanut I have is a most attractive knife, the scales have an olive brown hue and the colour is very enticing.I'm after more, too bad they don't do a Wharncliffe Mini Trapper in this offering:mad

yes I have a couple of the family brands, a case bros. saddlehorn trapper from 2006 is my favorite EDC right now.
