Whats the deal with this site?

Ok takes forever to open, takes a while to go btween forums and at the bottom of my screen appears, s45site.net or bid.openx.net This is the only place these two things appear. Don't get those little mssgs on any other site but this one? Any idea's anybody? thankse

PS they seem to be India or Paki based sites
 
Maybe you should do a malware / spyware / viruscheck on your computer, it could be some nasty program is making your computer slower.
 
Oh great. I've opened this thread and probably got the malware too. :-D

Seriously though, I agree on the malware search. I use glary utilities and/or advanced system care. Sometimes both. Plus adaware.

Agree. I don't have those messages or problems moving between forums.
Try Ad-aware and or Avast, they're both free.

Well ran a scan with malwarebytes.com and am using CA firewall set up with anit v, malware, filtered email etc etc. Nothing showed on the scan I did and like I said I don't get those little mssgs on any other site except this one. Nothing on ebay, fox, jdf, trdrpi, lp forums, cs forums, lw.com, etc.etc. It is only here that my computer will run slow everywhere else it is fine. Anyways was just wondering. keepem sharp
 
I see those names pop up briefly when the page is loading and the browser shows where the data is being transferred from. I would say those sites are most likely where the ads are hosted.

What type of internet connection do you have? The site runs really quick for me, just as fast as any other website. Also what browser are you using?

If using Firefox use an Ad blocker plug in and those ads won't load or show up. Should make things faster plus you don't have to look at the ads.

This is a site related issue. It is an advertisement imbedded program that supposedly is transparent to the user but it ain't to me. Did the ad blocker thing and am not getting any more pop ads but the bid.openx.net is still showing up BUT ONLY ON THIS SITE. I have no bugs or anything as I did a full scan with CA and Malware bites. So my computer is clean. I find this very annoying to wait 30 secs or so for pages to load. Maybe one of the guru admins. knows what is going on. From what I have read this type of program deals with pop up advertising on different forums and is used as a marketing tool. Any help to stop this is appreciated.
 
Mozilla 3.6.15 is now out, go to Help, then Check for Updates to update your browser.

Make to add the AdBlock add-on, it works pretty well.

I've got the same problem, using Firefox on two different machines I get creamed by these *.openx.net...
I used an asterisk because there's a bid.openx, and I noticed an r.openx as well. This just started happening about two days ago. I upgraded my browser this morning and there's no change. I have a ton of security on both machines (at home and at work), both have different OS. I too am in the Rochester NY region, so that may be related? None of the other sites I visit have these issues. Virus/malware/adware all show negative.

I just downloaded the RR CA security sweet and now I am getting intermittent mouse movement. It is triggered by a windows security alert flashing on the icon tool bar and the bottom right of my browser page. The windows security alert flashes really fast and then the mouse stops working and then starts again. Holy crap this a.m. I had a really fine working computer and now I don't. CRAP
 
Basic members don't see ads. Just saying, you have more than 1000 posts, you might want to think about supporting the site. Anything that says openx is related to the banners

If you're seeing windows security alerts and the mouse is hanging up you are likely infected. I'd recommend the "Security Tango".

This has little to do with number of posts. It just started happening this week. I have no where near 1000 posts and it was bogging me down till I installed an add-blocker. Seems to be directly related to the adds that pop on the right side of the page headed by
Paid subscribers
don't see these ads.

I wasn't having problems with the directory page.

Well truthfully I was a paid member till last month and don't really use the selling thing that much and when I did I didn't seem to sell that much anyways. All that being said it is an ad imbedded thing and I am using an ad blocker. Dumped CA too, and the mouse thing is gone. You know the hesitation thing with the mouse.

Using Windows firewall, avast anti virus, and malware bites etc.etc. Scanned my comp a couple of times and it is clean. Just frustrated this is the only site I am getting this lag on. To upgrade to get rid of it well now that ain't gonna happen. Basically cause it is just pissing me off now. keepem sharp
