What's the difference between Classic and reg Sebbie?

I'm starting to gravitate toward wanting a small Sebenza, and noticed that the only difference between the "regular" version and the "classic" seems to be the scalloped ridges along the bottom where your fingers go on the regular.

Is that the only difference or is there more? For those who have handled both, which is more comfortable? Why did Reeve redesign it to have those scallops?

I prefer the Classic because the blade is pointier, and I like the handle more, but both are nice. Did you know there is a whole Chris Reeve Forum under Manufacturers? Check it out. There are all sorts of Q&A references in there.

Holy cow...I never noticed the Chris Reeve forum. I pretty much never check the Manufacturers area. Thanks for the lead.

My son has a small Computer Graphics Sebenza that he uses, among other things, to strip wire. Says he bought it to use. It replaced a Puma Stag handled Duke.

Grapevine,

Some other differences off of the top of my head:

1) The classic style has a larger cutout for lockbar access.

2) The regular style has 2 or 3 small ridges along the spine end of the handle.

3) The classic style has a slightly pointier blade shape.

...in addition to the one you already mentioned. My preference is the classic style for large Sebenzas, and regular style for small. At least that's my preference now. Ask me again in a year or two, and it'll have flip-flopped, for sure  :)

The regular sebbie feels better in my hand. However, the classic feels good with the wood inlays (a bit more girth/grip). That said, the classic is easier to open on the small sebbie b/c of the larger thumb cut-out.

I have a large Regular and both a reg and classic in the small.
