I have nowhere to touch/handle or look in person at CRKT Sebies.
21
25
Large or small?
I assume one is bigger, how much?
I want one, badly!
Can't afford 1 of each.
Really like the carbon fiber too.
Which is the best choice, for the 1 knife guy.

I personally think the 21 is the best first CRK experience. The pivot bushing and overall design is a work of minimalistic art. Go with a large 21 micarta first.

Minor correction-It is CRK
I also would recommend a 21 for the 1st. Small or large your choice. The Micarta inlay recommendation is a very good one. That or a plain Ti. If you go small I definitely recommend the Micarta inlay.
I don't know all the specs off hand but you can easily Google them or check out the dealers-they will have the specs in their ads.

If I had to pick only one it would be a 25 with Micarta inlays. It's the latest and greatest model.

If I was you...I'd go carbon fiber large. If you are familiar with the bm griptilian size difference is like the grip and mini grip for large and small seb. But they are much thinner, and smoother, and just a better built knife.

I agree with those who say get a 21 for your first CRK. The pivot bushing alone is enough reason. It is truly a great piece of engineering. That is not to say the 25 isn't, they are just two different animals. The large is noticeably larger than a small, but not huge by knife standards, if that helps at all.

The large 21, the 25 and the Umnumzaan are all the same size as well. The only small currently in production is a 21 or a Mnandi (or the soon to be released Inkosi).

As far as the pivot/lockup goes, please look at nyefmaker's post in the Inkosi thread, fifth post down on page 2. He explains it well: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1289669-Inkosi/page2

I would also vote for Micarta inlays if you are going to be using this knife. They make the knife even that much more great IMO. I could never get into the carbon fiber scale Sebenza's. I've owned a small, gave it a chance, and ended up trading it away. I guess I just prefer titanium.

I'd recommend buying one here on the exchange. You will get a discounted price and can always get most, if not all of your money back if you want to try a different CRK.

I am sure you are going to be happy with whatever CRK you choose.

Absolutely! I have Sebenza 21 and the pivot bushing is the main reason for me,thats why I choose 21 over 25,and yes a plain 21,without inlays! ;)

Some other threads with similar questions with some photos as well.

You really can't go wrong with whichever you choose. You just need to decide which will suit you better, the large or small.

Myself, I'd go with an Insingo blade shape. Very good utility blade shape. Great knife.

Plain large Sebenza 21. You just can't go wrong with it.

If you want a bit more width and grip, get the micarta inlays. It's not really necessary... more of a preference thing, imho.

Nothing like a plain large Sebenza 21.

Large 21 plain. The Sebenza.
The large was the original size. The small is more pocketable and does most things a large can do.
Only you can decide if you need the extra lenght.
If you need a realy large knife, then the 25 is your choice.
At the CRK site you can find detailed description of the dimensions.
It also depends on your cutting needs.

These posts have covered all the finer points of which CRK to get....Except, if you have big hands the small handle isn't going

to be long enough. I big hands, the small is not big enough for me.

I've read comments on this forum from guys with big hands that say the small is big enough.

As all the guys said here, it is really up to you what size you prefer to use. Also, you have to consider your local knife laws.

I choose to carry and buy small sebenza 21s because they're more pocket friendly for me and it also meets the legal limit in where I live and work. :)

I have both the CF and the plain jane, and have yet to try an inlaid one. You can't go wrong with either the Titanium handles o=r the Carbon Fiber ones. :)
