Whats the difference between a dogleg jack and a serpentine jack..... this might seem like a dumb question but i really don't see the difference.

The curvature of the handle is different, at first glance. One curves the opposite of the other one. Other than that, i've not a clue.

Dogleg jacks have a small end and a large end and taper in between, along with the curving - with the blades set at the small end -- the curve can actually go either way (the one shown is a standard dogleg - if the curve goes the other way then it's a reverse dogleg). A serpentine (or sometimes "premium") jack has ends and body of all one width - no taper, no large end/small end.

Yep, it's the curvature of the handle.
The serpentine's butt curves up into your palm, whereas the dogleg's butt curves down into your fingers.

The serpentine also has equal-end bolsters, whereas the dogleg has a fatter bolster on the butt than it does at the blad pivot.

Not a dumb question at all & glad you asked it. While I have knives of both patterns, I could see a difference, but didn't know what constituted them exactly. Thanks for asking the question.
