... you've done to feed your CPK habit.

... for me, so far, it's taking experimental drugs for fun and profit. Next Tuesday I'm going in for my second experimental drug clinical trial on cystic fibrosis for patient compensation of $1,482 to help pay off my K20 and Shiv preorders.

You win.

But with a mix of curiosity and dread, I'm curious to see if anyone can top this.

I gave up a six-figure income working as a successful design engineer - product design manager - production manager and cashed out my 401k and bought a bunch of machine tools

No wife means another knife lol

😁
Not gonna lie, as terrible as getting divorced was and as many negative aftereffects that I am still suffering from that no good, very bad day in November 2017...

... the state of my knife and gun collection is definitely not one of those negative effects. Amazing, the growth potential of even a tiny collection when you streamline the acquisition approval process that much.

I'm keeping a job I'm rather unhappy with. To be fair, that isn't just about my CPK habit, working a less irritating job would involve a large lifestyle change. Not to mention a negative-trending economy dries up jobs in my field well before it does elsewhere, so there's nowhere to go right now.

But being able to go for things like the Shiv are a bit of a consolation.

Oh yeah, thanks for that. Who needs a 401k anyhow.

Retirement = Death , and there is a lot of evidence to support that!

I simply make the “I buy a knife, you buy something of equal or lesser value” trade. But my wife is constantly reminded of how her chosen purchase never seem to retain any value…
