Is there any experienced opinion or knowledgable opinion regarding the 410/SG2 Laminate Steel that Kershaw uses?

I have the Blur and the JYD II in SG2. Both are incredible slicers due to the thinness of the blades, very easy to sharpen, and hold their edge well. I wouldn't use it as a chopper, even though I have and it held up fine, other people have and it has not done as well, but they also realized that they were probably using the incorrect tool for the particular job they had at hand.

I would also suggest posting this question on the Kershaw sub-forum, as you're likely to get more (and better) answers.

Thanks, everyone. It is the JYD II I'm considering. What do you think about the knife overall as an EDC? I already have more high end Kershaws than any other knife so I am familiar with Kershaw per se but that knife I know nothing about.

JYD II Titanium has become my EDC as a result of the great blade and being feather light. I bought a 2nd to put away for a rainy day.

I just pulled the trigger. If I like it I'll snag another since they only made 1000.

Thanks for the replies . . .

All I've heard of the SG2 JYDII is that it's one of the finest production knives ever made.

You really can't go wrong with it IMO.

1000 was the max. number anticipated .The number may even be lower than 700 due to production problems. Get them while you can, they will not be back again.
