Its 2018, what's the hardest knife steel made in a knife? has anything changed?

Any knives in the steel?

If I remember correctly, I think I remember reading about a Rex 121 sample clocking in at 71 - 72 HRC. Maxamet can get up there too, somewhere around 70 HRC I believe.

The hardest is Rex 121. The second hardest is Maxamet. I have a Maxamet Manix 2. Not sure I’d ever buy a Maxamet blade again due to difficulty of sharpening it and possible brittleness.

Just curious what else is out there, I don't know everything.
I will remember you saying those knives aren't for everyone. I have the stones to cut them but it hurts to say I don't think I am at the point I can truly appreciate or take advantage of the rex121 ran that high. But when the time comes I hope u save a spot for me!

you got it man, don't worry, there are so many other really cool steels I'm working. That's just an extreme.
