The largest I've sharpened is by 18 year old Heinkel 14" Chef's knife. And it handle the task surprisely well.

So far it is my Cold Steel LTC Kukri, with its' 12 inch blade. No problems at all.

Hi Gene. Anything up to 10" in a single pass. Over 10" requires "breaking up" the pass to 2 or 3 so the "scratch pattern on the edge doesn't become "too horizontal".

SIFU 5.5 in blade with heavy s-curve. No problem, but it would have been nice to have diamond sleeves to do the initial sharpening. But, after about 40 min I now have 5.5 inches of folding razor!

Thanks gents for the input. I raised the question because it seemed limitless to me. I for one agree that the diamond hones will make the package complete. Seems like most of my knives now are getting to be 440 or 420. The diamonds will make super quick work of everything else that isn't.
Sal, I'm glad you're working on them and even solid sticks will be fine.
