We had our family Easter dinner today and I asked my usual question "Got your Buck on you?" when I see my Grandsons..The expected response is "I got my pants on don't I " Its a little family joke that started with KathyJo's dad 20 years ago and has become a real family tradition since I started collecting and giving away Buck knives in 2007. Jessica,Wesley's girlfriend, told me she's been asking him too especially when they go camping or on other outdoor trips. So I asked her if she remembers her Buck too..but I had not given her one at Christmas because my wife had overruled me and picked out her present last year. While the girls were washing dishes I slipped out to my bedroom and looked for a suitable Buck to gift her lol! The only fairly new Buck I had was a 112 LT I picked up to tryout about the same time I got a new 112 Slim ..and the Slim kicked the LT to the curb.
That started me thinking about how very, very many Bucks I have given to good friends and family since I fell in love with Buck so long ago..So what is the last Buck YOU have given away and do you feel responsible for contributing to the Buck Fever epidemic in your circle of friends and family???

I really like this thread..... I had to post and say hi!

I just purchased a Vantage for the grandson's graduation.

One of my favorite things to do when showing folks my little collection of Bucks, is get them to read the back of the warranty card.

I like to think that giving a Buck knife can help enforce belief in integrity. That's cool, no matter where your from.

Thanks all for allowing me into your family!

Two Buck 112 Slims, both engraved. A blue for my grandson who turns 17 and a red one for my oldest granddaughter who is graduating HS next month. They both like to go fishing and camping and they like shooting targets with my lever action Marlin rifles. I’m very proud of them and want to get them on the right track. Lol

I just gave away one of the DLT exclusive 501s - in black linen micarta. (I'd planned on making a gift of the green micarta, as well; but it had some blade play, which dropped it below GIFT grade...so I sanded the micarta and bolsters with 800 grit, lightly oiled the micarta, and rubbed the with polishing compound on a chamois. It's MINE now).

On my deployment, we had got to knowing the Security Forces folks pretty well and in some conversations, I found that the one young Airman only had a cheap pocket knife. On my way off the rotation, I handed him my Buck Vantage as a upgrade to his dollar bin, gas station knife. He was pretty pumped and the way I heard it was he handed it off to his replacement when the deployment was up.

In the past year, I've given an SK Blades Smoke Jumper to an old friend, an SK Blades Shield to someone on BladeForums, and a 110 to my daughter. I guess I'm not a 110 guy.

I have 7 of the LT Race 110's on my dresser..One is mine but I can't use it till we give them to the Band around Christmas. KathyJo and I have given our guys a USA Buck for Christmas for 4 years now and when I seen them on the Forum I knew it was the perfect gift..

Lemme see... In the last several months:
1 - Compadre Camp Set to my Brother in Law who's a camper, hiker and Scout Leader.
1 - jigged bone 500 to a good friend.
2 - 112 Slim Pro to 2 guys who work for me.
1 - 101 that I put black canvas micarta handles, nickel bolster, finger grooves and lanyard to my cousin / hunting pal. before giving him...
1 - 560 to replace the one he had lost since the 101 wasn't doing it for him.
1 (2) - 303 to my cousin who forgot he had it in his pocket and got it confiscated by the Secret Service (I gave him another to replace).
1 - 110 w/ my lanyard spring holder to a friend I pheasant hunt with.
1 - 110 to a nephew for his first hunting trip last fall.
2 - 414 Cub Lites NIB, 1 each to 2 nephews in the Cub Scouts.
And I'm having 100 or so 112 Slim Selects done w/ my company logo etched on the blades to give away. Does that count?
