Hi folks,
like many of you out there i buy knives that i don't actually need lol.
with that idea in mind i just bought another knife yesterday i don't need.
so, i'm thinking to myself i will try to stop buying knives now.

I wonder to myself how long it will be before i buy another knife, kitchen knives not included. which made me think of this question. what is the longest amount of time that you have ever went without buying a knife you really don't need?

My longest "dry spell" has been up until I purchased my first knife. It has since been downhill... :D

Not counting the time before I got into knives... About a month and a half.

Two weeks so far, because the funds ran dry, last purchase is a Camillus Cuda just because I saw it on clearance, the next purchase will be something by Kizer, just because. I'm betting I'll have it in my hand within the next month. I don't need it, I just want it.

13 years without buying any knife, because I had my "needs" met with what I had. In the last year I've re-defined "need".

About a month. But, since I am now carrying the Southard AVO, I am not in a hurry to buy anything else...except the black Spyderco Southard collaboration which came in two weeks ago...sort of like a big brother. I felt it was necessary.

Ever since i bought my first knife. Every other knife after that i dont actually really need. I just want. Ever since i started collecting knives i dont think ive went longer then a week or 2 without buying a new knife. Or at least trading or selling then buying. Just started getting into hinderers and bought my first couple this past 2 weeks. I dont see myself needing or wanting another knife for a while because i dont see any other knife being better then a 3" xm, but well see how long that lasts.

I went over two years when I was unemployed. I had enough in my collection to keep me out of trouble. Thanks to one of the members here, I won a GAW and got a knife during my unemployment. That was really cool.

I was content after my Damascus Sebenza so prolly 2 years. I got back into knives big again when my gf wanted me to find a good knife for her bro for Christmas.

I usually go 2-3 months in between purchases with a trade or two or a sale in between. I'm beginning what will probably be my longest streak since getting big into knives, as I'm saving for a sebenza 25.

A week or two maybe since I became an addict. Honestly getting sick of not having money and having to sell other stuff and other knives to get other knives. Soon here I have to take a nice long break from this. I've been saying that for months though. Being on knife sites to a knifeknut is like a AA/NA member being at a bar or crack house. Wanna quit you gotta leave. I want to quit but I'm not really ready. Though I know I need too. I HAVE ENOUGH! I don't even use 60% of them for god's sake so whats the point of keeping them around. I guess I'm making sure I don't want them and making sure some don't suit me better than others but damn I'm tired of not having $. I need to find a way to support my habit more and not be broke or quit.
