Hey guys. Just wanted to get a thread together to gloat about your favorite knives, EDC's or customs that you have. So, what are the knives you have, in what steel, and what have you subjected them to or used them for that impressed you the most or suprised you? I'd have to say the knife that has impressed me the most is not just one knife, but the company itself. My first knife was a swiss army knife, long before i came here or even had a clue about knives. I just knew i liked them. Over the years i've bought and received many and i have to say, for the price and the steel used, they perform amazingly. A swiss army knife is the only knife i trust straight out of the box, no questions asked. I haven't had one fail on me yet. So, what are some of your knives?

Used my rc3 to cut open concrete bags in the rain on a thursday (about 20 bags), that friday I used it to separate the hull from the deck on a rowing shell that I was repairing (thats multiple layers of fiber glass and cabon fiber weave) Then on saturaday and sunday I was camping with it in the rain, lots of small batoning and the usual camp stuff, as well as trying some trap triggers.

It sure needed sharpening thursday and friday night, but its tip didn't even chip the whole time. Heck of a knife, and people considder it the "weak" ESEE :D

I had a Cold steel SRK and a Recon Tanto both in aus 8 when i served in the military, used them for prying open ammo crates and boxes, used them as hammers to get tent poles into frozed ground, opening a lock i lost the keys to, stabbing thru my locker(pretty thick steel) much more.. they looked like shit after a while, but damn, they perform well! Handle came loose on both of them after a year, cold steel replaced them with new ones ;)

From the age of 12 to about 26, my only edc knife was my trusty SAK Huntsman. It got used for everything. The worst thing I recall doing to it was cutting open a container of battery acid to fill a lawn tractor battery at work. The blade is rather stained and etched as a result. The blade is also worn down a bit from sharpening. It is fully functional still, although it is in semi-retirement these days.

I dont really do any really "hard use" stuff as I generally use the right tool for the job. If I need to pry, I use something build for that etc. If I need a hammer ill use a hammer or a rock, not my knife.

That being said, I am really impressed with my sebenza, it keeps on cutting and have used it everyday for over a year. I fid it easy to sharpen but most of all I find it cuts very well. I have been really happy using it as an edc and havent looked for a replacement for a while. ALthough the new ZT looks pretty nice:)

I did that to my benchmade ascent (black coating with a partial serration) i have when filling a battery for my dads motorcycle. It ate the coating right off.

Wow, don't hold back or anything!

In my ignorant youth, I threw my USMC F/U a bit. Surprisingly, it didn't break and now I know better. Recently? Not much - opened up a doe tonight with my Becker BK-11. No muss no fuss (well, there was a bit of muss, I suppose).

The most I've ever had to do is baton a lot of nasty, knotty, shag bark hickory, just nast tough stuff.

I batoned about 10 peices of wood and made a buch of kindling out of it with my Busse NMSFNO and it could still shave hair. I did the same with my FFBM.

I haven't had to chop through any cinder blocks or cut myself out of a car with them, yet.

prying the head of a diesel engine up far enough to get my prybar in. course nothing will damage a knife quite like high current... my poor monochrome... i loved that knife.

Being in LE, I've used my old Cold Steel Pro-Lite w/tanto point for alot of things. Prying open windows and doors, cutting down people trying to hang themselves, cut through screens,seat-belts, rope and mesh. Have also used it in the woods for all kinds of outdoors related stuff, also for skinning and cleaning fish & game. It's beat up with the black finish coming off, but still a performer!
