whats the next steel

I love my emersons but why don't they use better steel I'm not saying 154cm is bad I am just wondering why they don't use something like S30V or D2

IIRC ernie said that for what the knives are designed for 154 is perfectly adequate, and its not imho a bad steel, personally i wouldnt mind seeing S30V or something but he sounded pretty pleased with the 154 at the time, IIRC even all his custom stuff is 154 (unless its damascus anyway)
