The edge geomitry looks to be a chisel grind...a little different than my first couple 14's that had an unconventional, convential v-grind:confused: I will be using a Sharpmaker, so I have either a 15, or 20 degree inclusive.

Factory is about 25 so, you should be good with 20. It'll take a few extra minutes to change the angle but, you'll like it. Then just use a piece of cardboard to strop the backside.

imho sharpmakers work great on a lotta knives but EKI isnt one of them, freehand is the way to go for me anyway.

the angles on a SM are not quite right for one thing.

The best thing is to just use a strop and try not to let the edge get dull.

If your in the field or doing a lot of cutting or something and stropping after
use is not an option even just using a fine ceramic rod to touch the edge up
will keep the edge singing for a long while before a proper sharpening is actually needed.

If its just a roled edge or a small ding you dont actually need to sharpen
that out, steeling the edge with a cermic or fine stone will get you back on track.
Its once there has been material actually eroded/chipped away at the edge one needs to crack out the proper sharpening kits.

Problem...my edge is dull...somehow... I let Lycosa in my head and removed the coating off the blade, and dulled the edge in the process. I've had 2 other 14's and this one is the first that has what appears to be a chisel grind. My first too had V grinds, but not a conventional one's. One sides grind was higher than the other. I just orderd diamond rods for the SM to help me reprofile the edge's.
