What's the sharpest you've got your SAK?

I get mine sharp enough to shave the hair on my arm. I'm kind of lazy, I just use a ceramic coffee cup to sharpen, sometimes a steel, but usually just the cup.

It was short lived, but I got a Climber sharp enough to shave armchair without touching the skin. Tree topping sharp! It didn't last long.

Pikers!

I get the blade on my SAK so sharp, that if I just wave it in the vicinity of my arm, the hairs jump off committing suicide, rather than face the blade!

:D

Agree with above, mine are sharp enough...even for me ;)

Usually arm hair shaving sharp, sometimes treetopper when I'm into it, and rarely hair splitting (only once, actually.) My next project will be to split molecules, or at least, those that are too thick. I keep them up with steel or strop, and the edges stay sharp for longer than I would have suspected. But my Vic blades seldom get hard use.

What's tree topper sharp?

Imagine your hair as trees forming a forest. If you "treetop" the forest (i.e a powerful wind or a helicopter) you just cut the upper parts of the forest, leaving the thick trunks intact. In a similar way, if it's sharp enough a blade can cut justthe upper (most external) part of your armhairs and leave the other half, the one closer to the skin, still attached.

I hope I have explained properly...

Sharp man sharp

Don't laugh

rounded or tipless knives and small serrations can cut deeply and badly

They just have to be sharp, mate. This one I barely touched it

You n't cut yourself on purpose just to show us how sharp a serrated SAK blade is did you?

That's really sharp. I don't believe I've ever had a knife that sharp that it wouldn't push over the hairs rather than cut up higher.
