Whats the story behind this one?

Its ESEE/RC alright, looks like an ESEE-4, but thats about all i can make of it. The engravings, red liners. Its on the ESEE photo page with a name, Reuben Bolieu. Call uneducated but i have no clue who that bloke is, apart from that he writes for some magazines(google-fu on his name :))
Is it a special knife for a class you guys gave?

Reuben is "Bearthedog" here on the forums. He's a friend of Jeff's and after taking a trip to Peru with RAT he sold all his worldly belongings, bought a camera and decided to tour the world taking pictures and writing about his adventures.

I don't know what Jeff did to him in that tent in the middle of the jungle but it changed him forever....and not in a good way.:D

As for the knife, it's a special edition that was made for one of the jungle trips. Some of the specials have red liners and custom engraving.

Well, if you get a limited edition knife out of the deal, you can probably put up with whatever else happens in the tent in the middle of the night:D
 
i think all the RAT training courses include a knife with the custom engraving and red liners.

So THAT's what happened to Bearthedog! I had wondered about him. He used to always post on that other knife forum, and I hadn't seen him on there in a while, it seemed. Hmmmmm.... good to hear he's enjoying himself.

I like the looks of those red liners though....

Maybe on the next rat pack knife.... hahahahaha :p
