What's the story on these?

I was in the knife department of a large Outdoor Sports store yesterday when the guy who runs the dept asked me if I knew anything about a couple of Spydercos he had found in the back room.

They were NIB, automatic knives, with a blade profile I would call modified Warncliffe. The boxes had the name "Embassy EH" and the model number C121P. They were identical in every way, except for the blade etching.

One of the knives had the name DAVID ISSIS JR etched on it. I at first assumed this must be the designer. But the other had the name ELISA SHUNNARA instead.

Any additionial info on these knives would be appreciated.
Why the different names on otherwise identical knives?

You need to return with a girlfriend and find a different salesman and say, "Hi! I'm David and this is Elisa, we've come to pick up our pre-paid Spyderco knives." :p;):D

Thats a wierd one Mike.

I wouldn't think the store could have ordered them from spyderco with the names on them.
Maybe they sent them off somewhere to be etched, but wouldn't think they would do that unless they were paid for up front:confused:

I would like to know how these came about, but have a feeling we will never know the mystery of David, and Elisa.

It turns out that the phone directory has an EISA SHUNNARA (without the L). No David Issis, though.
Makes me wonder if someone special-ordered the knives and then declined to accept them because of a spelling error.

And given the price on the boxes, I will pass on snapping them up.
