I have learned alot form this forum, but, there is one topic I am concernerd with that I have not seen discussed. I have googled it , but have found no answers so I figure I would ask.... What is the term for a two bladed knife on one spring? What models have this feature? I have been collecting Traditionals for a little while now and have always shy'd away from multi blade knives because I like a thin profile. Then last years Blade Forum knife and Harness jack 10 came along and I love it. I see all the pics of the #54 Big Jack and think it looks great, but, two blades on one end cannot have 1 spring, I researched further and there is the 54 Big moose , but, I believe that too is on 2 springs, hence my curiosity. Thank you in advance for any knowledge you can give me.

When larger than a pen knife, they're called double-ended jacks, but they're not always made on a single spring, so you have to make sure.

or sometimes opposite-end, specifically when they are not equal-end. (ie. a #26 vs #35).

Some whittler, stockman and congress (I think) patterns are configured with just 2 blades, on opposite ends of a single spring. Often, they're referred to as 'half whittler', 'half stockman', 'half congress'. Don't know if it's universally true, but I've generally taken the 'half' prefix to imply just one spring in the build, as opposed to the 2-spring standard config for these (normally) 3- or 4-blade patterns.

Thanks all, I am trying to figure out the terminology used when someone lists one of these types of knives for sale. I would like to find one for sale and websites and or private sellers do not always show pictures from top to bottom. This is all very helpful.
