What type of firestarter is in the Izula kit?

I finally used mine the other day. First time ever starting a fire without matches or lighter! I spend a lot of time in the outdoors but never have done any "bushcraft". I think I'll be doing more, it was pretty cool. Took a little bit to figure out the technique. Now the firestarter rides on my keychain.
 
I believe the newer ones are ferrocerium and the older ones are misch metal. I'm not positive, so hopefully one of the more knowledgeable members can chime in.
