Love to see that greeting Trax! I was afraid you were going to give it up.:( cmeisenzahl, I'm glad you asked about one of the Mayo knives.I've benn looking at them lately and I'm sure someone here will provide us with some good insight.

I have had three Buck Mayo gizmos. One, a Hilo, a gave to a dude during one of those Budweiser induced "I love ya man!" moments. Pillock moment.
They are good knives.
For a folder under $60.00 I would get a Sirus. And a 298GY model if you get the opportunity. ASAP assisted deployment and ATS-34 steel. Or, a 889SBMF...but that is bulkier and 420HC steel. Both the Sirus and SBMF are made in the USA.

I think I've noticed on a couple of posts that you are a fan of the Sirus. I've looked at those as well. By the way, ever had 110 pillock moment?:D

I got 4 of those Cutback's a little while back and had them engraved for some of my old frat brothers. Made a nice little gift on our annual camping trip. I tried to modify mine to make it a little nicer, adding PB washers and working on the pivot a bit. I ended up with a worse action than the stock ones my friends got, those teflon washers work pretty well...

Maybe mine will be better in 10 years, but I was impressed with how nice the stock ones were.

I also like mine alot. The action seems to get smoother and smoother as it gets used. Great deal for $13.

Me too and I agree!:D

The northshore is nice,it also has an aluminum handle and is very light, but I prefer the sirus. The northshore is a smaller knife along with the Mayo cutback. The mayo Hilo is a tad larger with a stainless? steel frame. also a little heavier. Good luck
