What's this? Ant knife…

Looks like a "Tiger Knife" I almost bought at Sunny's in the 80s. Those big, funky plastic handles were all the rage back then. Maybe it had to do with all the Steven Seagal movies that were coming out...

That ANT logo looks very familar.I'm not sure but I think I saw some mid to low priced folders in the mid 1990's.

Well, if it's really a Seki-City knife, it can't be that bad. Use it for a while, and see how it holds an edge. That's all that really matters, isn't it?

This is what I was talking about. Some of you other "youngsters" may remember these, from "back in the day." They are truly "cheesy China cheapies."

It's hard to track down an old brand, especially if it was a cheapie. The company could have changed to another brand by now.

I do remember a short folding knife called the Ant Roller. I think it had some kind of ball-bearing lock release, but I only saw one once, outside of pictures. The blade, though, was like the one you've got.

Ant was a good Japanese brand, it's most popular model was the astro-roller ball lock(liner lock type, press ball, release lock).

The knives were priced in the $30-50 range. Most had kraton handles or inlays and aus-6 or aus-8 blades, I think.

Thanks, Bob! That's the one I was thinking of. The one I handled had a metal handle with Kraton inlays. For a small knife, it had a decent grip.

My grandma gave me that exact knife with the lame camo a long time ago. She got it at a flea market.
