whats this guy trying to pull?!?

:confused:What the hell??? Well anyone that would be in the market for a Benchmade would know better. I hope anyway:confused:

Strange is right, I thought it may of been a accident/mistake at first.

I think he knows what is selling even though, the picture is saved as "Benchmade".

Strange...

description says "black", yet knife is clearly bare metal.

Also, the Kershaw logo is intentionally marred in the picture.

Very strange indeed. But, to go along with the assumtion that it's a mistake, if you look at his other auctions they are all sports colloectibles. So I guess that it could be a mistake. But just in case, I have e-mailed him and would like to see what, if any, his responce is.

Evidently, people saw through his little charade, and not one person bid on it.

It must have just been either bad lighting or a bad camera angle when he took the picture to post.:D.:D.

I just got an email from the seller. He said he won the knife (sealed in that box) in a card game, and the other player assured him it was worth over $100 on eBay! Oops!

Looks like he ended the listing and cancelled all bids. I didn't think he was trying to be deceptive...

I just love our concept of justice. Let's see, in America a person is guilty until proven innocent.

I would suggest that we don't jump to conclusions until we know the facts.

Thanks to im2smrt4u and logan5 for going the next step beyond condemnation.

So the guy SAYS he won the knife in a card game and then took a digital photo, uploaded it and never realized the knife was not a Benchmade.................and we all are guilty of jumping to the wrong conclusion?

NAH..............;)

Well, he did end the auction, so in the end its fine.

...even if you do wonder how observant the guy is...

All I got back was an e-mail saying, "thanks I won this" (that was the entire e-mail), not an explanation of winning it in a card game (as if that doesn't sound like a big fish story). I still question if it was intentional or a mistake. I find it a little hard to believe that knife was “sealed” in that box and if it was, he never noticed that it wasn't a black Benchmade. For fun, I might look at what this guy is selling in a week or two and if it's re-listed an e-mail to eBay might just accidentally happen.

I haven't received a response from him yet. I checked the bid history, and it only shows one bid, which appears to have been cancelled by the bidder, not the seller, stating it was a wrong item. It was, however, cancelled only 2 minutes before the end of the auction, which only lasted a day, so maybe it was cancelled by the seller. Just hard to believe he didn't see Kershaw on the blade, and didn't notice the knife wasn't black as his description stated. But heck, I should offer him $10 dollars for that knife since he probably doesn't know jack about it's value. I could tell him it isn't worth 15 brand new. :D

Medic1210,
Sorry to mess up your idea ;), but in my e-mail to him I let him know that it was a Kershaw Vapor that you can get at any Wal-Mart for $19 and some change. So if he didn't know before, he does now.

I have not seen the auction in question....BUT...

I do know that the term "benchmade" is used a lot of times by "outsiders" to describe a knife that is hand made. This guy may not have even known that Benchmade is a brand name. He could have just been going on what he was told...

Peace-
Cam
