Hey guys i just found this on another site. Is this copy infringement? Check it out the site says its a Greco prototype.

greco "la duena". Up to jerry if it's copyright infringement: that said if you look at the later non prototype version of the La Duena, I believe he removed the front gaurd hole. as per:

Ahh thats good LVC, the pic i listed was a knife forsale on a knife dealers website. So maybe its just the one knife that was made thats forsale.

If you look at his website and most of the more recent renditions of his designs you'll find that the hole is either absent or moved up and out of the gaurd itself. This may have been an attempt to move away from the copyright requirements, but without talking to him or Jerry I am only thinking out loud.

mst with hole above and outside of guard:

mst sans hole

and the current for sale representation of his mst, hole above and outside of guard:

His older designs did often contain an in-the-guard hole that I think would fit into the copyright definition, but most of those are from pre-2005.

lmfao! WAY COOL! now why are you over on that web site when you can drink here with us?

.

Yes i would say his latest design would pass by your pics LVC. Thanks for posting them and clearing up my confusion. Carry on ;)

To be clear: the issue here is whether this is trademark infringement, not copyright infringement.

I think that Greco knife has been around for a while. Which Busse does it alledgedly look like ?

it doesn't actually look like any particular busse model, busse has a Trademark filed on the talon hole (the hole in the front guard) and actively enforces it.
