Anybody strip their BAD or Skinny ASH-1? If so, are there a lot of INFI dimples under the coating or does it look pretty nice just getting rid of the coating without doing more? Any pics would be a big .

My BAD looks great without the coating. ;) :p

the Bad's were not coated. As Guyon's post eloquently shows. I have no stripped skinnies. My SS that i stripped had some blemishes under the finish near the handle, if that counts.

I stripped my Skinny Ash, dipples on the flats, the sides look pretty good, its my user and gets put to it alot,if your trying to make it pretty your in for a lot of work. G.M

All of the BADs were uncoated??? I don't know if too many knives are coming out of Wauseon or we're witnessing some early signs of dementia.

early onset alzheimers for sure. On the upside, that means I can have you committed and I can take care of your knives for you.

I stripped my skinny ASH, and it took some time to sand it out (about 6 hrs by hand) to the progress Im at now

I still have a ways to go, but so far I think it looks good.

This is what the majority of the blade looked like (in the curves of the handle) when I stripped it.

thanks for the photos i have been thinking of doing something similar, was the ground part of the blade similar to the the flat areas??? or rough in a different way, i may have mine beed blasted

The actual ground part of the blade was smooth, I wanted to do a full convex on the Skinny ASH, its the first time I've ever attempted it, and it is awesome.....

I just was given access to a bead blaster, does anyone have any advice on what the proper procedure is for blasting the Busse? Would I have to remove the handle slabs?

As for the rest of the remaining dimples in the small areas, what have you guys done in the past to get rid of them? Any tips or tricks that could help me out would be greatly appreciated.
