Can any of you buck guys tell me what may or may not lay under the molded rubber on this knife. I would like to replace the grip with some wood but am afraid there is nothing to work with underneath.

I think Haebbie did a handle replacement on a knife like that. Maybe google it to find it. DM

Man! That is a lot more tang than I would have imagined. That is great! It is a strong knife. I wonder if the Buck Lite is like that? I know it is supposed to be a full tang knife, but I assumed it was a stick tang. The tang on the above knife it pretty nice.

I took a piece of black locust, teo pieces of mammoth ivory, nickel silver and paper fiber, split the wood, carved it out and glued it together. After a few grinding I had a knife.

Vary nice. I was thinking of getting some G10 and framing out the top, bottom and back then using some 1/4 zebra wood for the sides with a couple brass pins. What do you think?

Good idea, RedBeard. But don't forget to post some Pictures when you finished the knife.
