I only have 1 doctor's knife. It's a Case Baby Doc with a pen secondary blade, instead of the traditional spatula. I've read that the flat bottom on these knives was for crushing pills, and the spatula was for stirring compounds. I really like the laser etched leaves on the gorgeous bone scales. It's a little small compared to knives I typically carry, but my fiance won't let me get rid of it.

Show 'em if you got 'em. It's not a pattern we see often.

I've looked at getting one of those numerous times as they are interesting little knives. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Maybe someday. Beautiful knives you have there guys.

I too have always been intrigued by this pattern, but have yet to add one to my collection. This should be an interesting thread, would love to see some older examples that were produced when doctors actually carried these knives.

Other than wanting to be a veterinarian when I was a kid, I have no ties to the medical field. But I love the doctors knife design. I found a German made model, might have been Chinese but stamped Germany, at a junk mall and gave it to a family member. It didn't have the spatula, but it did have a crusher bottom. Great design, those country doctors had to get their jobs done and move on to the next house.

Carl, I want to see some doctors knives stories! ;)

Here's the only one I have - sadly, it doesn't get a lot of pocket time because for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be that good of a slicer...

Here's one, with some nice stag, from Amherst Cutlery.

Very interesting leaf pattern on that Case, NickelOak. I haven't seen that before.

Here are a couple of single blade docs from Queen with some nice stag: both nicely matched, but very different from each other.
