I am looking for an EDC blade. I've never owned a quality knife and am looking to get one. I will spend 125-150. Ive basically narrowed my choices down to a few, being:

Spyderco PM2
Spyderco Caly3/3.5
Spyderco Sage3(really like)
Benchmade mini grip ritter
Benchmade bone collector mini

The specs i would like, but am not limiting myself to, are under 4 oz, under 4in blade, and preferably not a frame/liner lock.

Thanks in advance guys/girls(maybe?), happy blazing

I would go with one of the Spyderco's, they are my favorite production company by far. I haven't gotten my mitts on a caly yet but I do have a PM and Sage 2. Both are great knives but the PM has been getting all my pocket time lately, try and get the M390 version or the carpenter version that will be available soon or might already be available. The compression lock is just as easy to flip open and closed as the axis lock and I personally like it much better.

I have the Para Military, the sage 2 (not the three), the BM minigrip and had the Caly3. My vote would be for the 1.) Sage 2 (or three) and then the 2.) Para Military 3.) Caly3.5 4.) BM minigrip
I REALLY like the sage 2, I'm looking to pick up the sage 3, I handled it at a gun show and really liked it. The parar Military fits a slightly different niche as the handle fits the hand better for heavy work. The sage series suit better as an EDC. The Caly3 in CF is a great knife but the scales just didn't cut it for me so the 3.5 might be better. I liked the BM minigrip and it worked great but to be honest, it felt kinda cheap for some reason.
I did a review on the Caly3 here: http://peditocascabel.blogspot.com/2012/03/spyderco-caly-3-c113cf-review.html

If you start off with a Classic, then you should be pretty happy...for a while.

I'd reco a Spyderco Para2 or a Benchmade 710. Both are great.
