What's up with Fehrman Knives???

I recently sent an e-mail, but have received no reply. I also noticed that it appears their website hasn't been updated since 2003. Are they still in business?
 
Thanks, Esav! I'm glad you pointed that out, seeing as how I somehow missed those pics of new knives he has coming out! That recurve blade looks utterly spectacular! Thanks again, my friend! :)
 
Eric is a very busy fellow,If you want give him a call.Eric is great to talk to and could answer any questions you might have.

I own 3 of his blades and HIGHLY recommend them :)
 
Featherstone, since you have some of his stuff, do you know what his usually delivery time is from the time you order? Thanks!

Im sorry I dont know what Erics turn around time is right now, if you want you can give him a call and ask to speak to him or someone in the shop like his brother Jay aka Buttonpusher on the forums.

Eric is in business. I suspect that he is getting a lot of orders and is haveing growth pains keeping up production and customer contact. He used to be good with email, I have sent him several recently and have not gotten any response. Now I prefer to contact him via phone.

When I ordered my in First Strike, it took twice as long as he originally stated. His knives are awesome and worth the wait.

My FS took a couple of weeks to be made and sent to me. I think it was a little longer than he said but not by much. I don't mind waiting a few extra days to get the quality and attention to detail that Eric puts in. I have been very satisfied with my Fehrman blade. For a fairly big knife, it cuts very well yet is able to take some very hard use. His customer service is really great too. Send one of his knives in and he'll sharpen her up and even apply a new coat if you request. You don't even pay for return shipping. In addition, he is a great guy to work with. Yes, his e-mails are slow, but, give him a call and he'll take the time to answer all your questions.
 
I just spoke with Eric. He said that he's been getting many orders and things are going well for Fehrman knives. At this point all of his knives are available in "pre-heat treated" form. In other words, when an order is placed, he takes the pre-heat treated blades heats them, fastens the scales and finishes them. Shipping time right now is 2-3 weeks. Hope this helps.
 
Thanks alot, everyone! I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering one of his 'Final Judgement' knives. One more question: Look at the 9 knife in the Fehrman or Reeves link that Esav replied with. Is this a brand new knife, or is that what the Final Judgement looks like now? Thanks again!
 
If the blade is recurve, that is a knife that's not yet available. If looks like the FJ on the website except for a different tip and slightly different scales, then it's the FJ that's currently available.

I dont think prices have changed, I will agree with the above on the quality,IMHO it is second to none.
You will be VERY happy with your Fehrman,Congrats to all here who have bought a blade from Eric, he is a stand up guy and makes some kick ass blades that you can trust your life with.

His customer service is AWSOME, And will take care of anything you might need.
 
I take back what I said about the wait time for Eric's knives. I just got my Peace Maker in two weeks from the day I ordered it!

Really nice knife. Will become my main fixed blade user. Thank you Fehrman Knives for an outstanding product!

Are the new versions that are updates of the current line up pictured in the other thread what is shipping now, or are those different models?
 
Eric is still making excellent knives.

Reportedly, he has new models that he has just been unable to debut due to other projects.

One of those projects has been his invaluable assistance and expertise in the development of our new LaGana VTAC handle manufacturing process. By trade, Eric is a master machinist and master moldmaker. His knives show the same committment to excellence.

Yes we are still in business and quite busy! I'm sorry if I let anyones email fall thru the cracks... we have been having some issues with our email server that neither I or my ISP have been able to nail down.

I have made some changes this week so try to send questions of comments to fehrman @ byesville.net and I think everything should go through.

We have been extremely busy but we are still turnin g around most orders in a couple of weeks. My original goal was to fulfill all orders in less than 30 days... we've worked alot of weekends and for the most part we have been able to make that happen.

Regarding new models... All our Survival Series knives have had some improvements like a more aggressive tip and more contoured handles. We will also have a couple of additional coating colors and we hope to be adding new sheaths at the end of the summer.

The Peace Maker (our 4" blade) is the same but we made a longer version, 6 inches, that is called the Shadow Scout.

We've also developed a blade with a customer we call the Extreme Judgment... its the same length as the Final Judgment but has a wider, curved blade.

We are even making some "tweaks" to the Hood Hunter blades.

So again, yes we are in business and although we are still busy any blade can be turned around in 2-4 weeks.

Our web page should get updated within a couple weeks... again we had some server problems and I'm on my 3rd computer in as many months but I believe I have all the issues worked out now so plan on seeing some new pictures on our web page!

Thanks for the info , Eric (and everyone else here)! As soon as I convince my Fiance' to let me spend the money (times are tight right now), you'll be hearing from me. Yeah, I know I'll get razzed for the 'Fiance letting me' thing, but let me make one thing perfectly clear: I WEAR THE PANTS AROUND HERE!!!! (she just makes all of the decisions :( )
