What's up with my mandi birthday card signature?

The entire signature slot is missing. Purchased from an authorized dealer, it's a newer card. I'm not concerned over authenticity but I would like to know why the signature section is missing.

Nope. It used to be Chris' signature, and Chris has retired.

It also was only a stamp or copy of Chris' signature for a long time.
