What's up with the new wavy bottoms on the SF handles? I like the spiky NO handle.

I like the way the other one looked before. I wonder why the change? No spike? Is there a purpose to the wavy bottom?

Me too! I already found reversing the grip awkward with the spike and worse with the wave (not that I'm generally in a hurry or anything).

Idaho.... You, of all of us, ought to know. Look the butt end of the HR and the butt of the SFNO. The rest of the handle is the same, but the NO's butt is spiky, and the HR's butt is wavy.

Scott,

I love your ability to turn any subject into an off-color double-entendre.

Keep up the good work.

I'm with Mike. . . Scott has an amazing gift to bring the subject into focus.

:D

I am not that fond of the "wavy" butt. It was kind of one of the reasons I didn't order one.

Doesn't the NARK have the same wavy butt?

I dig the spike butt butt, althought the wavy butt doesn't have the abrasion potential. I have some different blades with each butt and it is a toss up, but for me the spike is the coolest. :D

Are we talking about the spiked butt like on the TAC handles or that the SFNO just has one side of it's butt kinda pointy where the other side of it's butt is round and chubby. Now the wavy butt of the Hell Raiser is a totally different story and yes I have to admit it's butt is very different in style and shape of the NO butt, but with that said I'd have to state that even though it's butt is different this doesn't mean that I don't like it's butt. In fact I'd have to say that the wavy butt is much more comfortable in hand then a spikey butt. In general appearance rather than straight fondling, yes I would agree with most here that a spikey butt would be my choice, but with that said if I was to have to use it...I would pick a wavy butt anyday!

Just my two cents.....

i see now, so which one do you like, a spiked butt or a wavy butt?

How about spiking a wavy butt, that's what I like.

Battle Mistress with a wavy butt  can't wait!

Oh please don't let the FBM have a wavy butt :thumbdn: . I will cry if it does, and they won't be tears of joy.

well.... im trying to come up with a reason for it.

with the fusion handles, it has a spiked pommel, good for bashing against things to leave a small impact area, such as skulls. with the battle mistress you can use the back of the blade just as easily as the pommel for hammering purposes, if not easier, as you lose the chance of hitting your hand.

with the mid range sizes you dont have as much weight in the blade, and its not as easy to use the spine as a hammer, so you may end up using the pommel more often, wich would make the spike bottom less apealing.

by rounding it out you allow for a more focused striking point then the old ergo style pommels, while having a more utilitarian wider striking point then the fusion stype pommels.

i could be way off here, thats just the best i can come up with....
