What's up with this knockoff project 1?

That's a flagrant knockoff; the guy doesn't say it's a CRK in his description, but the product images give him absolutely no plausible deniability that he's selling a counterfeit product.

Not sure if anyone else has done so already, but I've sent an email to CRK with the item and seller information along with photos.

Have a look at the items location

The big DILLIGAF factories in China have no regard for intellectual or actual property. They
just pump those knives out and sell them to folks who don't know any better or just don't care.

Intellectual property, is a made up for the guys to claim something that isn't theres in the first place. :D

I would hope for 39 bucks that a person would know what he's getting.

I am ashamed that my Chinese people copy things that others design..it wasn't like that in old china....ahhh the old days....fi dolla get bath 3 girl.

The problem is that you, I and the rest of us here know exactly what that is. There are many
who are just starting out or just want a cool knife that would buy that not knowing any better.

Having lived in and arround China for a few years now I know that money is more important than anything
else here. How they get that money is often of little importance just as long as they get it.

Probably questionably welded together then coated. Can't imagine it'll be strong at all.

Even had the gall to put the "R" logo there.

I'm chinese but I am absolutely disgusted.

Looks pretty convincing. Reminds me of when I worked in restaurants and was told about the pics in the menus. The pictures look so good but in reality the food was often times not even made with food products so as to last through the photo sessions. This knife looks pretty good but we all know what will happen when it gets used.

At least the sheath looked to be high quality! I loved the uneven stitching! LOL! ,,,vwb.

Oh geez. I've said it a dozen times before - it's not unreasonable to borrow a single idea or two, like a hole in the blade, or a hollow handle, but when you copy the knife curve for curve, and even use a corporate logo that isn't yours, you deserve to have the word 'thief' carved into your forehead.

Preferably with a proper knife, so you know what quality feels like :D

Thats crappy, the only plus side to this is that most people who are going to buy a three hundred dollar survival knife usually have the fortitude to make sure it is worth its price, anyone who buys this crap deserve what they get or what they pay for.In my eyes price almost always determine the quality of an object. Its kinda like this guy who bought a cheap four dollar flashlight from my place of work and then complained when it didnt work right,I said what do you expect from a four dollar chinese flashlight, shoulda bought a 20 dollar light if you wanted to keep it for a year or so.:jerkit:

I'm Caucasian, but I have number of close Chinese friends. Almost to a person, they are so afraid of fakes, that at least in Hong Kong and certainly on the mainland, if they want something genuine like a watch or shirt-whatever, they will only go the the main store and pay full MSRP rather then get ripped off. This even extends to small things like quartz watch batteries.
Whenever one of my friends or her kids watches needs a battery, she will give it to me and I'll take it to my jeweler who charges like $10. She won't even trust WallyWorld to put in the battery. And this is in Chicago.:)

Upon reflection this knockoff doesn't bother me as much as the US imitations made by "responsible & honest men".
The Asians look at patents & copyrights differently than the Americans. After all these are Western ideas & concepts. I'm reminded of a 2000 year old Zen Temple that looked pristine. I mean brand new. When asked about it the monk explained that whenever a board or section became damaged, it was simply replaced. There wasn't a piece of wood in that temple that was more than 5 years old. Yet to them it was a 2000 year old building.
In the sit-com The Office Mike Scott was supposed to testify in a case on behalf of his lover and ex boss. If she won they'd share 3 million and a life on the beach. When he found out that she'd given bad performance reports on him while they were lovers, he told the truth and she got nothing. In explanation he said "you expect to get screwed by your boss but not by your girl friend."
