Don't you guys get all of your sheaths from these guys?

They make a first class sheath, but if this is true they are stealing from US, the tax payers.
And isn't this a US Marine camp?
Great security....Makes me feel safe at night.
Wonder what the going price on a National Security Secret is?

STOLEN MILITARY EQUIPMENT FOUND IN OCEANSIDE

( 04-23-2002 ) - Stolen military weapons, ammunition, parachutes, bullet-proof vests and a motorcycle have all been found in Oceanside. Authorities believe it was all stolen from Camp Pendleton.

Officers from federal, state and local agencies began their searches at Special Operations Equipment in Oceanside. There, they found a large stash of firearms and ammunition. But despite the name, the business isn't licensed to sell weapons.

There were four search warrants executed. Three of those were federal, so they have been closed to the public. The fourth warrant was State issued and did list illegal weapons and stolen military property in the search.

So much of the equipment has been compiled Tuesday, that authorities have filled up several truck loads.

"We're confidant that some of the property that we've discovered so far are stolen from the military... probably Camp Pendleton would be the logical place to begin looking," stated authorities.

Investigators at the Marine base say they are missing guns and ammunition.

One man, a convicted felon, is under arrest and police are holding two more, as well as animals that may have been guarding the weapons.

"There's a variety of reptiles here... unknown why snakes and large lizards and things of that nature... it was kind of a surprise to me when I saw them, so I'm not sure exactly how they fit into the scheme of things," said authorities.

An investigation is still underway to confirm whether or not the weapons are in fact stolen from Camp Pendleton.

They are also investigating to make sure that the guns are not fully automatic, which would also make them illegal.

Authorities have not said what made them suspect this location.

Where is that article from?

If it's true, then it's good that the bad guys were caught. I lived on Pendleton for probably six years and graduated from Fallbrook High, right next to the Naval Weapons Station. I remember hearing rumors back in 90 or 91 that some people were stealing some night vision equipment and selling them. I think all involved got serious brig time.

Stealing from the Corps highly pisses me off. Regardless of which individuals or company was involved in this, I hope the NCIS guys send them to hell.

I know the Strider guys are clean of this if it turns out to be from a reputable source.

I hope this post is ixed if it's false info.

Thread on this from several days ago, look fer it.
It was locked, to prevent the spread of rumors/slander/whatever&oretc.
Probably a good idea...
However, I hope it was a f-up on the part of the Feds.
If not, I hope they lock up the ones who were doing it, and no one else, and dont ruin a business in the process.

Thanks Satin,
I didn't know it had been up days ago....

It seems to be from a reliable source.
Don't know if I agree that it shouldn't be talked about.

If some thing shifty is going on it needs to be exposed.
It's on the World Wide Web...Only the guilty need hide now.

The part that sucks is that SOE sheaths are sweet, but if they are involed I would never get another of their sheaths.
Stealing from the Government is taking money out of all of our pockets.

And selling off US property during a time of war should be delt with very severely by every one.

I emailed SOE right after i heard about this the first time and mike mailed me back assuring me they were in his words "still here and everything is good to go"

you know they DO have a phone # and if you really want to know im sure you can call them, i personally plan on calling on monday.

 :barf:

1811s should have been assigned to the case if this is the real deal. I'll try to see Monday or Tues.

Thanks for the link, interesting.

If it were any of us involved, would it not be preferred that all accurate information was aquired before rumors were started.

This may be very bad for all or just a few. Lets give them the benefit of due process.

1whobuys,don't go trying, convicting and passing sentence on something you know very little about, judging from the artical.
Were you there? Do you have friends or family there? Does it truly matter to you besides the fact that they make sheaths for the Strider Guys.
If you are that worried about the fate of the nation and all of it's secrets, join up and help defend them both.
If some people did wrong let them and their families worry and take care of it, not us on the internet unless it is in a positive way.

If you are that worried about the fate of the nation and all of it's secrets, join up and help defend them both.

I did, I joined during this little thing called "Viet Nam"
I sent many a day on a NATO site making sure the Nucular bunkers remained safe.
Months in the field, years away from home and some thing like this involves all of us.(U.S.)
Just because it's a freind of a freind it shouldn't be dismissed.
I would love for S.O.E. to come on here and tell us about the four (4) warrants and the TRUCK LOADS of U.S. equipment that was removed from their building.

This is some thing that needs to be addressed, not swept under the carpet.

To address a topic you first arm yourself with accurate information. No one here currently knows the truth of the matter, thats the only current fact. Again it may be bad, but let us not make it worse until we know for sure!

Beware the MEDIA!!!!!!! It all may be true, but it may not. Remember the media usually makes everything sound like the end of the world. Also knife and gun people are usually EVIL!!!!!!, or havent you read a newspaper. Anything related to knives and guns seem to be made out to be the worst of society. This issue seems to be in the hands of the proper athuorities, but the media usually prononces a verdict long before things even go to court. SOX

Not the biggest fan of the media (vultures):D Can you tell?

1whobuys, I and the rest of this country thanks you for your time in uniform.
Becouse the SOE guys don't come on this or any other forum and tell their tale doesn't make this AREA 51 type stuff.
Probably the last thing their defence counsel wants them to do is do just that kind of stuff. Write a whole bunch of stuff on the internet just to be printed off and brought to court by the prosocution.
If you got in trouble would you want your case splashed around here?
Nobody is sweeping anything under a carpet, just not talking about it,respect that.

On March 28 I mailed a Randall mod 1 and $45 to SOE to have a sheath made. I have had that mod. 1 for 20 years and use it a lot.

Right now I am just hoping I get my Randall back.

Mike 45

I dropped off my AR to Mike who works at SOE to get some ambi thumb studs a few months ago. No paperwork, no reciept, just a gentleman's agreement. Two weeks later, I got my AR back along with a Strider hat...didn't even charge me for shipping.

From my personal experiences, they are honorable. My feelings are "innocent until proven guilty".

If they are guilty, then they will get what they deserve. Until then, I will reserve judgement. Hopefully it is just a big tragic mix-up.

Ya gotta love those little extras you get from transactions now and then... :) Knife Nuts....we're so easily pleased :D

Everything at SOE is fine.
Yes weapons were confiscated.
No, none of them were stolen from anyone, especially the Marines.
Give me a break. The Media is vomitous.
Mike 45, I have your knife in my shop to make the kydex. Worry not.
I would ask that everyone give SOE a break and let them sort out their issues.
They are Very good people with a tough road ahead of them.

Mick
