can someone please post this ebay auction here for me #110120547151. Maybe I've never seen this or is this a little fishy? just curious if you guys saw this...-Joel

Read his description literally.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...47151&category0=&fvi=1&item=110120547151&rd=1

The Box I have for it reads, "194OT" Sunstock Trapper LockBlade.

He doesn't say that the knife belongs in this box. He calls the knife a...

Schrade (Frost) Cutlery 3 Blade Pocket Knife..

And the knife's condition?

This is an older knife, still in good condition.

Looks pretty scratched up to me. Is it a Frost?

I've always wanted a sunstock trapper they are sooo cool, I cant wait to start my sunstock collection anybody else got one, LOL what a jerk off!!! -Joel

I wonder if it was a real Sunstock Trapper it may have " Derlin " handles as well. I saw an Uncle Henry knife once described as having staglow handles. i guess they were for use in the dark.

Those scales just might be florescent. Weird looking. Maybe the sunstock was designed that way.

Bet you a cocktail he doesn't get a nibble.

Not only is that knife not a 94OT, it's not an Old Timer of any sort.

Blades look scratched to heck. Not at all what I would consider 'good' condition.

Might give a dollar for it, if I needed a 94OT box, and if the dollar included shipping...

Best Wishes,
-Bob

hey joel, i have a "schrade frost sunstock" trapper from the 1960's with glow-in-the-dark handles, and meteorite blades. wonder if this guy will trade straight up?? his looks to be the rare "jackalopes unlimited" knife. and no guys, those are scratches on the blades, those blades are made out of polished "catfish bone", they heat it till it turns a super form of steel. just like my ex's cooking, oh it will cut ya!! hahaha!!!! avoid it like the bird flu guys, its a fake!

The knife is real. The box is real. They don't belong together and the seller poorly (incorrectly) described the knife and it's condition, whatever it is.

As knife collectors, we tend to be unrelenting toward sellers on eBay. Is this seller a knife dealer, or a guy who found a knife ("in good condition for it's age", whatever that is), a knife box, put them together and hoped to make a buck or two?

the thing is, say a new collector comes along, and really believes this thing is a schrade, what does he get, besides jipped to the fullest? the problem i see here, is someone selling something they 1) know nothing about, or 2) somebody just trying to straightout fool someone. now granted, his description would lead me to believe that this guy has no idea what he is selling, so i dont hold nothing against him, but it is funny, ya'll do have to admit that!! and the other thing, is that a largemouth bass shield??? looks like it to me! but in all seriousness, the tang on the knife is probaly stamped frost, and since (i think!!) it came in the schrade box, this seller just thinks it a schrade. either way, its good for a few laughs and who knows, maybe it is a good knife, but i think sellers should be a little more informed on what they are selling. i see alot of sellers saying "i know nothing about this item", yet they set a reserve for a boot-load of money, so obviously they do know something. either way, lets kick back and laugh, heck i may even bid on it just to have the box to send to someone who needs it and the knife for a "toolbox" knife.

I think the guy is playing dumb, working it so if anyone asks he knows nothing but if he accidentaly gets some cash from a rookie its fine with him, maybe not maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt but I dont trust anyone. "believe nothing you hear and half of what you see"

yea, but i am gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he is just ignorant on knives. who knows? i am still trying to figure out what that shield is!! is it a bass?? in codgers blown-up pic, that what it looks like to me. if so, it may make a nice addition to a tacklebox. i already have a china made bass pro shops knife in mine, but that one could work too, especially when i dont want to use my UH on the harder projects. oh, seen a guy selling taylor schrades at the flea market yesterday. he was asking $30 for the trappers, way to much for me. but i have seen some other off-the-wall knives going fairly high too.

hhhmmm...could be the same thing, u are right, bad photo. that knife u sent the link to would look alright if those handles didnt look so cheap. thats one of the problems i have with some of the new case knives, the scales look fairly cheap on alot of them. anybody here have experience with frost brands?? where are they made? i found one once when i was little, found it at a lake, but i dont have any idea what i did with it, probaly got eaten by that big 1200lb grizzley i had to wrestle down when i was 6. he ate 2 knives and my horse before i lassoed him and beat him to death with a shed elk antler! (ok, hope NOBODY believes this!!!)

Kris I look foreward to every post you make I cannot stop laughing when you write stuff!! Keep up the stories they are worth every word. -Joel

thanks joel! being from the south i grew up listening to jerry clower, so i got a heck of alot of smart answers floating around. but god, some people are so gullible!!! i am 27, but i told a woman about me being shot down in WWII in my p-51 mustang, and she actually believed it!!! yea, she was blonde! but seriously, have u ever told someone a crazy story and they actually believe it?? i told a guy once that i had shot the world record trout in 1973, after he told me he had landed a 28lb bass out of a sewage creek 6 inches deep! this guy believed me!! #1, i aint ever shot a trout, in the water or out, and #2, i wasnt born till 79!! oh well, life throws u curves, so u gotta duck then throw your bat right back at it!

I especially like telling stories to drunk people the best. You know the 62 year old guy in the bar hitting on 21 year olds and thinks hes still got it telling me about his 69 dodge charger that did wheelies off the show room floor. It makes me want to punch him in the throat but insead I just screw with him right back. Im 28 so I can appreciate your war stories I was also hurt in the korean war. Please no offense to any of the older guys here at all I was just telling stories. my dad is older and I remind him of it every day, and he reminds me of what a punk I am, just kind of a way of screwing around for fun. But the grand kids are there greatest weakness I can still talk my parents into anything, I just mention there only grandson and they turn to butter.-lol-Joel
