So a hardware store was having a 50% off sale and i picked up a TimberWolf copy of the Boker Magnum Bulldog for 6 bucks. i would have rather had the original but they didnt have it and i was wondering why TimberWolf copied this knife and the folding Kukri fpr basically the same price? It seems sort of odd.

Im impressed with the overall design and will have to pickup the original someday, its a pretty wide blade for a folder.

Böker magnum line also copies a lot's of designs. It's actually weird to see this from reputable company.

They both contract out to buy knives from china and have thier name slapped on them; same factory, same knives different markings.

Copying Boker?

Boker copies every design they make from somewhere else................

LOL

so Timber Wolf's piece of crap is a copy of Boker's piece of crap? Why, indeed...

Yes. They have several "inspired" designs that are dead ringers for Benchmades, Kershaws, ZT, and some popular fixed blades. Aside from the designs from CLB, those junkers will never get any play from me.

The CLB designs are under their Boker Plus line. Again, the Magnum series is just a bunch of re-branded Chinese-made pieces that Boker probably had no part in the design process for. I personally only ever buy Plus and up.

This. The Magnum line is all Chinese rebrands.

I didnt know this, it makes more sense than them copying it.

The knife is worth the 6 bucks i paid for it, im always looking for cheap decent knives to throw in a glovebox etc. Im not entirely sure what the blade profile is more suited for but its pretty burly for a folder.
