Hi
just wondering if anybody knows the status of his knife business, I ordered a knife from him last july and can't make contact with him to find out the status of the knife. I heard he had a long back log. he just doesn't answer mail of phone calls. does anybody know what is up with him, he does great work. I own 3 of him blades and want more. thanks. Al

He was at the Blade Show in Atlanta last month! I own several of his knives also. He said he was busy but doing fine.

Have you considered GenO Denning's knives? Like Wayne, GenO's a student of George Herron and makes an outstanding knife. If you like Wayne's stuff, you'll like GenO's stuff as well. GenO's backlog isn't too long either. Click on the link in my signature and scroll down to the bottom of the page to see some examples of GenO's work.

Hi
saw the knives of geno denning, they look good. do you have a web site or address or phone# for him. thanks. Al

I ordered a knife on-line and never heard anything. I then ordered one by email and had the same results. Maybe someone else is having better luck. I thought about the land line but I guess that doesn't work either.

They show you how detergents take out bloodstains. I think if you've got a T-shirt with bloodstains all over it, maybe your laundry isn't your biggest problem.

I had the same experience as most of you...but about 10 months ago. Never could get him to reply via email or phone. I tried both several times until I just gave up.

I do agree with what has been said of GenO Denning. Got 1 already and 3 on order. GenO's work is excellent and worth twice the price! Don't wait too long.

I bought a knife from Wayne at the blade show in June.... While I was looking at the knives on his table, a guy standing next to me inquired about ordering a knife.... Wayne, in a nut shell, told him that between guiding hunting trips, making knives to sale to the hunters that come to his place, and making knives for all the knife shows that he does ---- he has very, very little time to work on custom orders....

If my memory serves me correctly he said it would take something like 7-8 years to get a custom knife... He also stated that he had several thousand orders... He said he would take an order for a knife, and that there would be no deposit required (I assume this is for standard knives), but that it would be a long time before he got it done....

In other words he was saying.... If you see it on the table and you like it, you should go ahead and buy it.....

Good luck!!!

Okay! I really like some of Wayne's designs and now that I know what I need to do to acquire one (thank you GeneL74), what I need to know now is what shows Hendrix attends...anybody know? It is not on his web site.

Hello Jeff,

I would say the next show you could catch Wayne at would be the Southeastern Custom Knife Show in Winston-Salem, NC on Sept. 9-10...

I am not absolutely certain that Wayne will be there, but I'd say the chances are pretty good!

Blade Magazine has contact information for the show.... The guy's name is Tommy McNabb -- Phone number listed is (336) 759-0640.... The e-mail addy listed is -- tommy@mcnabb.com

I am sure he could tell you if Wayne will be attending....

Good Luck!

Gene

Wayne had the table across from me last year at the SouthEastern Custom Knife Show - I expect he'll be back in the same spot this year - at least that was his plan when I talked to him at the Harrisonburg VA. show.

Take care,
Bob

If you can't order a knife off of the webpage, then the webpage should be changed to reflect that.
