What's with all the mini Rukus 615BK-1401 knives for sale on Ebay? Only 300 were made, but there are four up for sale right now, with another seven sold in the last couple months. All are BNIB. The serial numbers are different, and the photos make them look genuine. But it seems like a lot of this run of limited editions are being put up for sale.

Does it usually work out that way?

Not sure what you mean by "work out". Could be some who purchased and realized they don't like or want. Could be some brick and mortars supplementing, I don't know for sure, only speculation.

Are the prices these are getting on ebay higher or lower than the original selling price?

The prices seem to cover a wide range, but higher than street prices when they came out.

I bought a Shot Show limited edition for a song a few years back.

It really was an upgraded version of the regular knife using s30v blade steel when it was first hitting the market---I got it for about half of what the regular production knife was going for at the time----ebay purchase.

so I guess it really didn't work out for the seller with a limited edition knife.

Not sure where they came from, it seems that many of these items are discovered once they are all sold off. I don't see how this is much different than the "business as usual" way of buying a knife and flipping it for more money or selling it at a loss to make room for another item. Happens all the time and has for years.

You're right. What I didn't realize is that this limited edition came out long after the mini Rukus was discontinued, and was for sale last year and early this year at quite a few dealerships. So it makes sense now.

I did pick one up, and it instantly became one of my favorite knives. The blade flies open with just a thumb flick -- no wrist action needed. It falls into the open position if you point it downwards and pull back on the axis lock. It handles like a dream. I have long liked the Rukus 610 (I often EDC a first production run), but it is pretty large. The mini Rukus is about the size of a large Sebenza, but with thicker handles. The blade came extremely sharp, and the width behind the edge is just 0.020. Incredibly good knife.

I hate that we find these things out when they are all gone, especially when it is a model that was discontinued long ago and coveted by many.
