So i decided to buy a Buck 750 Redpoint 4 days ago with the money i had left over from getting my girlfriends anniversary gift :p

But i woke up the next morning and i noticed a bunch of very small rust spots had already formed on the blade. So i just took a pencil eraser to it real quick. Good as new. Then every day since then, when i got home from school, there are just more and more rust spots. The knife hasnt even touched water. so why is this happening? And is there anything i can do to prevent it?

I've never heard of a Buck 750 (I live in a closet), but try cleaning it real good and then put a coat of auto paste wax on it...I use turtle wax...this also works well on the brass used on 110's and 112's bolsters...

Its basically a $25 made in china knife :o
So what do i clean it with? Im a bit of a knife newbie.

Edit: Yup thats it.

Strange that it's happening. I have one and it's been outside on my front porch table for weeks with out a spot on it's blade. I use it for cutting open boxes, trimming the occasional small branch, etc.

Mine gets rust from just sitting on my dresser by my bed
I havent even used it for anything other than opening mail so far...

Yea, there is an issue with it.
My wife left a Bucklite Max in a garden box for two weeks and it probably rained 10 days out of that. NOT one speck. I know for a fact Buck 420HC holds up to the conditions you've described.

I guessing Buck needs to check if they are getting 420HC from there supplier of these knives.

Anyway, I still say Buck want's you tell them about this issue

I agree with Flatlander, I'd for sure contact Buck, either here or by calling them. I'm sure that they will want to know if there's an issue. Could be a bad batch of steel or something.

Ok thanks. ill try to get in contact with them. If someone from buck could reply to this thread or something that would be great.
