What's with these Highly Curved Sabers?

Hard to draw, good for slashing and hardly anything else. I even recall seeing one European sword that was practically L-shaped. Comments?

The top one you show was a weapon. If you judge the apex of the curve, it is for horseback.

The British lion of the 1803 trends is either a band sword, or 'frock' dress sword.

They image I posted, has been posted by me a couple of decades ago, so I'm sure it has circulated. The best claim was Russian artillery officer but I don't recall what, if any corrections have popped up.
