Thanks, after searching I found this one had already been beaten to death.

Hi Leef,

Nothing wrong with the Gerber Strike Force in my opinion........besides that it weighs a lot and the place to keep the tindertube in is to tight for Gerbers own tinder cubes when they are still in the airtight silverfoil wrapping.

It's to much weight and size fore it's firesteel.

On the positive side it produces a really big showder of sparks and also the "built in" metal specially hardened scraper plate works perfectly.

Still I use since I tested them thoroughly the Large Military Firesteels from Light-My-Fire Sweden.

I just received (today) a new batch for our Scouting club and they added an metal scraper plate to the lanyard and I must say they did a very good job with it.
All I can say is it's Swedish it's perfectly made and solid like all Swedish designed things.

The BladeForums friends that asked me for a large military firesteel will like them very much I'm shure.

Best scoutingwishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Yah, it's heavy and bulkey, BUT when your hands are cold and things are hard to hold onto, you'll appreciate those properties.
