hello i was in some groups on facebooks about esee knives. and just stated they are a bit overpriced and could use better steel like 1095 crovan or a2 or even cpm 3v,

i got kicked out and blocked by the leader in the group grown up behaviour?

i just stated that for example ka bar uses 1095 crovan wich is better than regular 1095 and theyr knife costs less.

i also said that for the price of a model 3 you can get a master hunter from cold steel in cpm 3v wich is also lots better.

please delete if this offends anyone

That's what you get for hangin' out in strange places.

Didn't your Momma ever teach ya that?!

haha every group or site etc etc with guys who owns esee its the samme. hey i own a model 3 and a junglas but there are better blades out there.

you get kicked out and treated like a pedophile rapist almost for saying it.

anybody else feel the samme that esee people think they own jesus/allah/god etc of blades?

nothing about pissing just weird everyone likes different things but its stupid to say noo i own the best nothing in the world is better than mine..

I get it. You got banned for expressing an opinion, and you feel butthurt about it. But going to another forum to complain about it is quite rude. That kind of stuff happens. It's happened here. Just get over it and move on.

BTW I don't own a single Esee product FWIW.
And the countdown is until this thread is locked.

im not complaining or butthurt haha lol

just wondered why people can be so ignorant and think that only their make or brand is the best?

Its a pride of ownership thing I believe. They might just be use to people coming in and starting stuff with them, where you were actually just trying to start conversation. People can be sensitive, it might work out better if you were to word it 'wouldnt it be cool if esee used whatever steel'. And some groups are less tolerant of any kind of judgement.

thats acutally what i said sigsog. that i would like to see esee shifting and offering more high end steels. but nope their rowen treated 1095 is simply the best at everything in the world.

and i dont judge hey buy whatever you want its your money and stuff but there arent simply anything best when it comes to knives as its up to each and their own. but there are better steels for the job than others

Happens all the time in many industries. People tend to defend their investments. If they hear from someone that Their preferred product choice is in any way inferior, it gets their dander up, and they come out swinging. Try going on a Chevy forum and ask why they don't use as good an engine as Ford. Or a New England Patriots forum and defend "Deflategate". See what kind of reaction you'll get. Even if you are giving an honest opinion, you will be viewed as a troll and possibly banned.

If you brought up your questions here as a General discussion starter, you would get a completely different reaction.

The moral of this story is Know your audience.

thank you yeah i was just stating my opinion nothing else and was just comparing prices for example model 3 to a master hunter in cpm 3v etc etc

cant understand how people can be so easily offended we are all humans and must be able to share our opinions without judging one and each other.

You are buying a warranty against abuse not a high end knife. I have an izula and a 3. They are good but there is certainly better blades for the money. It seems like you didn't tap in to their club and drink the appropriate coolaid
I like the blade shapes but not the steel. I follow that group and enjoy my Esse but to make an introductory post like that makes you look like a troll

It is like joining a Taylor swift fan club and talking about how Beyoncé is so much better.

They are pricey due to their warranty. you can literally break one on purpose and they"ll replace it. they might curse you out and give you that southern attitude but they'll replace it.

ESEE

-Great Warranty
-Micarta/G10 Handles
-They make great factory sheaths.
-Build Quality

Ka-bar/Becker

-Plastic Handles
-Nylon sheaths (not a bad thing but Kydex and molded plastic is better)
-Warranty? they void the warranty if the knife breaks from batoning or stripping the coating
-1095 CV is definitely a step up from regular 1095 but Kabar/becker has a history of being brittle and sends out a bunch of lemons.
their quality control is really bad.

that i would like to see esee shifting and offering more high end steels. but nope their rowen treated 1095 is simply the best at everything in the world.

Actually, Jeff Randall has addressed that. In an interview, he answered the following:

IW: Knives have been around for thousands of years. What technical innovation is still possible?

JR: Maybe on the material side of things we will see some innovations. There are a lot of exotic steels being used in the industry, but after using a lot of them, I really can't see where the extra cost is justified in terms of performance, especially when it comes to a simple field knife. I'm just waiting for a portable light sabre or laser knife. In the meantime, I will stick with plain old carbon steel cutting edges and be happy.

So right or wrong, he just doesn't see the extra performance being worth the price difference it would cost to bump up to higher end steels.

Also, comparing a USA made line of knives like ESEE to Cold Steel's Master Hunter which is made in Taiwan is just not an apples-apples comparison.

Perhaps this thread should be titled "what's wrong with the education system?" instead. Spelling, punctuation, grammar - any of these ring a bell for you? Guess that detracts from the (seemingly) obvious attempt to bait the ESEE folks. Not sure I get this thread at all.
