What's wrong with KnifeCenter's site??

I placed an order with KnifeCenter.com and since I knew one of my knives was on backorder I decided to check the status. I tried last night and I tried tonight, and I get the standard Internet Explorer message that the page cannot be displayed.

Is KnifeCenter having some kind of web server problem? Did they go out of business with my money? Anyone know anything? I'd like to know what's going on with my order, dammit!

Sh*t. This sucks. There does not appear to be any reason why I can't get to their site. Nothing else about my computer is screwed up. I can go to any other site I've tried with no trouble. When I try www.knifecenter.com it tells me that the server cannot be found / DNS error. (whatever that is)

You sure that www.knifecenter.com is what you succeeded in getting to?

DOUBLE SH*T!!!

WTF, man!?! I just sent them an email to help me check my order status, because I'll be damned but the friggin' site keeps failing to come up for me! This is the second night in a row I've tried with no success!

Anyone know of a problem that could be in my BROWSER that would selectively prevent me from visiting one particular website? NOTHING else is unviewable for me!!!

I think its their server, sometimes it works for me, and sometimes it doesn't.

If you get that message once, it will sometimes come back if you don't empty the cache in your browser. I'd empty the cookies while you're at it. Or you could try going to the main page and hitting the refresh button on your browser.

I just tried it and it worked fine.

Ive ordered from them for years, superb service,i doubt if they have gone out of business! Sounds like a glitch in the system.

If you have a mac, (and you don't) try Apple Safari. If you have a PC, YOu could try downloading the latest version of IE or another browser.

Knifecenter has never dropped the ball on any of my orders. The thing is, when the next business day rolls around, give them a buzz. You will always be able to get someone to help you.

In terms of order tracking... You're actually tracking the shipment which means you will see where your package is once UPS or Fedex has it in their hands. If your item is backordered, you will not get any information over the computer. Also, the computer may not bring a backordered item to the attention of a staffmember. My suggestion is to call and check to see when an item may come in. Then call again then to remind them. The key is to call and speak to someone nicely. They are then more apt to remember you and your order.

Heh, well, tonight it's working fine now. I did empty my cache last night after posting, but even then I tried it and it didn't work after that. Who knows -- or will ever know -- what was wrong, or what changed to make it work. Funny you should mention emptying the cache. Maybe that . is what did it...

Peacefuljeff-

Try what Trav1 suggested. Also, if you have a virus some web pages detect it and won't let you in. Update your virus deff, scan and see.

yeah...that happens to me sometimes with newgraham...
it has nothing to do with their site...i'm quite sure knifecentre still has your order and it's coming...

it's something to do with the ISP...the way it's connected or something like that...it'll sort itself out after a few days...suddenly you'll be able to get on again...for no apparent reason...
