Scales are "slightly" oversized.

In some instances, Wharncliffe can also refer to the shape of the frame.
I see there was an S (special combination) 8363 3/8 Serpentine Whittler. The fraction usually indicates a changed master blade. Maybe?

handles are poorly fitted for one ( scale switch anyone?), and the mainblade profile dosen't look right........................to me anyways

M/M,
I think that is just the back springs sticking out that gives that appearance.

Never mind, I found the site. I agree with MM, the blade profile looks off. I'll bet that odd handle fit is just the scanner. I've had it happen to me, where the bolster reflection creates an illusion. It's hard to believe the scales are off that much.

I don't think it is a reflection, What usually happens to the springs when the blades are open? Just my 0.2.

I think you may be right, for when I was once blind, now I can see.
Thanks Rick

Hah!, Never really could tell until I really looked at it, I believe you are right, does seem odd for a handle to be so far off. Also, whats up with double pen blades. It seems like there should be two varieties. Like a pen/clip, clip/coping, pen/coping, ect. Two pen blades just dosen't seem "right" to me. But the main blade profile just dosen't seem right, something just dosen't seem right, and I can't quite put my finger on it.

a similar schrade cut co for blade comparison, taken from voyles auction site.

Kinda shoots down my "wrong" blade theory a bit. But it does look like someone has touched all the blades to a sander to remove rust and/or pits. Or I may not know what i'm talking about
