Just pure cutting ability. A Sebenza? A BG-42 PCKS 110? An Opinel? A Dozier? An M2 Benchmade? Maybe the old carbon steel slip joint that was your Grandpa's? I don't own any super steels, so mine is my Opinel #8. What's yours?

My best cutter would have to be my Spyderco FRN Endura SE with VG10 steel. The full SpyderEdge has gone through SERIOUS cutting chores at work....the blade keeps its' edge with no problems whatsoever....and it just keeps on cutting and cutting. ;) :D

Mine is close to KBR's choice in that my plain-edge Spyderco Endura (VG-10 steel) cuts like a new razor...It is "scary-sharp"!

My Marlowe Bali is my best cutter, but I don't really cut anything with it--aside from that, though, it's gotta be my MT Amphibian.

Mine would have to be my fully serrated FRN Delica. I wanted to get the PE Delica and the fully serrated SS Endura but I guess i'll have to get it the other way around.

Whereas the high hollow grind on the Seb really does wonders, nothing compares to my convex Opinels. I've got them scary sharp:eek:

A $3 Victorinox paring knife cuts better than anything else that I have, by a good margin.

My No. 8 stainless Opinel comes in second. The Opinel came with no factory edge at all (completely unsharpened). I sharpened it with an edge bevel of less than 10 degrees per side.

My Victorinox SAKs are in a virtual dead heat with the Opinel, (the edges are just as thin, with very slightly steeper bevel angles).

Depends on what's being cut.
For fine cuts (paper / string), my Spyderco Calypso Jnr PE is a regular little pocket razor.
For heavy canvas, think plastic or thick rope it would be my Spyderco SE Police.
For carving points on wooden spikes, opening cement bags or cutting medium rope it would be my Spyderco PE Military.

The best all rounder I have, and the one that gets carried most often is my Spyderco PE Ti-Salsa. Ok, ATS-34 might not be one of the new "super" steels, but it is damn good, I can get it almost as sharp as the Calypso Jnr, it's as robust as the Military, has probably the strongest lock of anything bar a fixed blade, and the tip is robust enough to tackle a fair amount of accidental abuse.

I have an update :) Just convex ground my BM 330 (154CM) to a highly polished edge. This thing is a FREAKING LASER!!!!!!

Actually most quality knives have great cutting ability, right ? Depends on how the owner treats the edge.

MY Strider SA somehow, and I'm not sure why, really is the best cutting knife I have. It just cuts and cuts and cuts! I whittled a bunch, making a lot of DEEP cuts... I'm talking where I was pounding onthe spine... then I cleaned it off and sliced up some hormone/drugfree, free roaming chicken like butter. I'm tellin' ya, this thing melts through stuff!
