Presumably most of us in this forum make a knife once in a while.

I'm interested in what people do for their primary income, particularly if it's something unusual.

Did you know that Terry Vandeventer, mastersmith, is a herpetologist specializing in venomous snakes? Mike Quesenberry drives trains.

Any of you guys (or gals) have an interesting or unusual job?

D DevinT Sorry to off-topic. Is that a 3B in the pic on your site?

Cantankerous is a gift of aging, and, indeed, can be interesting, depending. No? Another tool in the tool box. :)

I'm a trail design/build/maintain/assessment contractor, in addition to designing knives and now making them. Total mom and pop situation- livin the dream!
also, increasingly cantankerous

I putt around making fixed blades and slip joint mods. Haven't made a dime and have given most away to friends or coworkers. As far as my paying job I'm been a electrical lineman for over 33 years at a big utility co. and actually like my job.

In my 4th year as a full time Knifemaker, mostly kitchen cutlery. I make and sell about 10-12 Knives a month.

previously as manufacturing operations head for smaller CNC aerospace machine shops. Also owned and operated auto Collison shops for awhile.
