What's your EDC setup, and does it vary?

Just wondering what you usually carry and if it changes much. Here's my setup:

1) Left front pocket - Wenger Esquire - ALWAYS.

2) Right front pocket - Blue Farmer or Red Pioneer. ALWAYS one or the other.

3) Watch pocket of my jeans - small traditional slippie with a clip point and/or wharncliffe blade. Changes daily depending on whatever. ;)

So, what's your story?

If you referring just to knives, I always have a folder of some sort clipped in my left front pocket. Usually something medium to big, like a G10 Endura, Military, CS Recon 1, Stretch 2, etc. Occasionally I'll carry something smaller like a Delica 4, but its usually a big Spydie or CS. I often switch this knife for something else, as rotating them is part of the fun for me.

My EDC folder rides in my left front pocket, as I carry a pistol or revolver in my RF, and absolutely refuse to carry anything else in that pocket for fear of precipitating a negligent discharge. Accidentally launching a 9mm Golden Saber across a church sanctuary would not be groovy.

Victorinox Explorer Plus is almost always in my LF pocket as well. I experiment with a Leatherman PS4 or a Rambler from time to time, as I am always trying to find the balance of light weight vs. utility. But usually its the Explorer.

From time to time, I also pack a SOG Powerlock or similar on my belt, but I just don't "need" a big multitool, and usually abandon it due to weight issues. Its back to that size vs. utility thing again.

Gratuitous cell phone pic of a couple of my EDC rotations - G10 Endura and Para 2:

On duty: Vic Rambler with keys. Vic Compact RF pocket.

Off duty: Vic Rambler with keys. BM 530 clipped to RF pocket. RF pocket, either Compact or Soldier.

Rambler carries the perfect set of tools, it's just small for food prep, or hard use. Anything and a Rambler, and you're good. 95% of the time, the Rambler is plenty.

Positioning changes a little between tacticool pants and jeans, but the contents are much the same.

RF: wallet, Space Pen. Sebenza, occasionally replaced by Emerson Commander, a Delica 4 ZDP, or something else. Wallet contains Vic Rambler.
RR: handkerchief. Sometimes Spyderco Lava.
LF: phone, Surefire LX2.
LR: slim Alox SAK.
Watch pocket: Case mini stockman, blue herringbone.

Keys hang on an s-biner from RF belt loop. Include tweezers, Lummi Wee, firelighter, peanut lighter, etc.

I occasionally switch knives, add or remove keychain tools, or upgrade the light, but the basic pattern has been the same for a few years.

I carry a Digicam Millie, Fenix flashlight and a SAK Outrider, if I am doing any kind of field work I add a Leatherman MT (4.5) either a Core or ST300.

When not in Uniform I rotate between a Endura FFG, Police 3 or Military and a small SAK usually a Fieldmaster. I always have a MT in my 4X4 and in my house and one at my BDE HQ where I work.

RF: Vic alox Soldier (always), black Fisher Space Pen (always), US coins, sometimes Spyderco UKPK
LF: British coins, sometimes phone, sometimes Surefire L1 Lumamax or Streamlight Microstream (only if I'm out at night)
RR: Spec Ops brand THE Wallet Jr on a paracord leash to belt loop (always)
LR: black hankerchief (always), sometimes phone

I also have a Vic alox Classic and a Streamlight Nano Light on my keys.

As far as knives go, the only edc knife you can count on me having no matter what, flood, earthquake, or the 4 horsemen of the appocolipse coming to dinner, is my little classic on my keyring sheath.

Other than that, it's a crap shoot. I may have my bantam in my pocket, or my easy open alox solo, or my Case yellow CV sodbuster, or my Case peanut, or my old stag handle Hen and Rooster half stockman, or even a nice flat lockblade by Buck. It all feels how I get up in the morning.

But I will always have my classic.

LF pocket is my Alpine Backpacker(wegner), RF pocket is one of my stockmens, and I usually have a large linerlock(Cold Steel or CRKT) clipped in my waistband.

Just returned from a month trekking through Scandinavia. Had my red alox Victorinox Pioneer in the LF pocket, the Leatherman Wave on the belt and a Mora 2000 within reach. I carried it sometimes on the belt and other times it was attached to my rucksack.

Now I have only the Victorinox Climber in my LF pocket and a Victorinox Classic on the keychain.

coin pocket on my jeans: yellow sportsman 84mm (always)
clipped on right pocket: sanrenmu one hand openable folder (choice of 2 kind)
my wallet: autumn orange classic alox (always)

on my usb flashdisk: a red classic... always bring it when i go to work.

not to mention that i left in my jeep and studio hehehe...

lately ive been carrying the buck vantage pro in the right procket. with the new to 2010 leatherman ps4 squirt in the left. sometimes i have to downside to a smaller knife. (college campus..)

that new squirt ps4is awesome so much better than the old one...and the old one was sweet.

I rotate alot my knives. Currently I have slipjoint + multitool + modern folder combination going.

Multitool is Victorinox Spirit or Victorinox CyberTool 34 on belt

Modern folder: Benchmade 940, Spyderco UKPK or Urban ( I have back order Spyderco UKPK blue FRN) clipped on watch pocket

Slipjoint: Sak Soldier Alox, Sak alox cadet, Yeoman MK III, Northfield 250109, Queen small Dan Burke Barlow and Buck 309 companion riding beneath my wallet in right front pocket.

Usually I have atleast Dan Burke Barlow with me. But only thing that I carry regularly or have carried regularly every day not rotating has been Victorinox Signature on keys with Fenix E01 flashlight.

Here are the folders i carry in my RF pocket:

-Timberline Kelly Worden Large Tactical (Very rarely)
-Kershaw Blur
-Benchmade Griptilian 551S (Most of the time)
-Spyderco Caly3 in ZDP-189

And on my belt i either carry a Swisschamp or swisstool. I'll carry a buck xtract if i'm going out somewhere and don't want one of my tools or knives sticking out. I'll sometimes carry the buck 110 or benchmade benchmite II depending on situation.

My EDC varies periodically; I can carry knives regularly for years, then change things up.

One knife that has not changed for most of a decade: a black Victorinox Executive. It's always in my RF pocket. The past year, I've also been carrying a yellow Spyderco Pacific Salt PE, clip and all, down inside my LF pocket, and my work knife, which has either been a SE Tasman Salt or, recently, sometimes a SE Atlantic Salt. On most days, I've also been carrying a Victorinox Spirit S on my belt. And when I do carry my fanny pack, I still have my old Leatherman Micra in it.

I want to carry my Sebenza more, and am planning on getting one of the Sebbie belt holsters for horizontal carry. I haven't been clipping knives to my pockets very much anymore (too much wear on the pockets), which has somewhat narrowed the knives I've been carrying.

Wow, I'm feeling a little under-dressed here. My EDC is a Leatherman Micra.

That's it. Nothing else. Yes, I know, perhaps I should stop posting here and go back to the other forum... ;-)

I work in IT so I am always very close to bigger tools when I need them. The Micra tightens screws on the back of computers, opens envelopes, cleans and trims my nails, and other stuff.

The only thing it doesn't do is food prep. The little blade can't handle apples. I'm saving up for something in the "gentleman's folder" category. A Moki perhaps, maybe a Scagel or Northwood. If I win a lottery then something from Chris Reeve.

I rotate my knife/tool/light/other gear quite a bit.

Today I had my Charge TTi with custom leather sheath on my right side, a Benchmade 940 clipped to my right hand pocket, and a Leatherman PS4 on my keys.

Benchmade Mini-Griptillian in right pocket.
Spartan in left pocket.
SureFire 6P LED Defender, E1B Backup, or E1L for light.

EDC:
RF pocket: Spydie Delica 4
Breast pocket if I have one or Left pocket: Case Sodbuster Jr.
Keychain: along with mini-Led and firesteel (Boyscout version), Vic Classic
If carrying a briefcase or man-bag :-) I carry a Leatherman Wave
