Whats your favorite blade steel?

Hi guys,
I’m a pretty big fan of D2 and BG-42 and I’ve always had good luck with these two steels in the past, so I wanted to hear your opinions on what your favorite blade steel is and why?

I’m also a Diehard Benchmade fan and would love to see some new blade steels maybe in the BM line up, What do you guys think?

D2 for me. I have carried 440C, S30V, D2, Gerber's "stainless", 420HC, Old Timer's carbon steel, and ATS34 (not to mention others) and of them all I like the agressive cutting of the D2. I keep my mini-grip fresh, so resharpening is not an issue. I tried to carry my Ritter Mini as an EDC, but the D2 worked better for me.

ATS-34 and VG-10. Just about perfect.

With Carbon steels, the required maintenance just spoils the fun.
