Whats your favorite CRK wood inlay...??? Even though I dont think anything could compete with the beautiful mammoth barks out there, I wanna keep this to strictly WOOD inlays. Perhaps some of us will discover NEW ones we want to look for.

Can Consist of Annual Sebenzas, 21 Sebenzas, Mnandi

AND of course, Pictures would be much appreciated.....!!!

I think this is going to be lots of fun...!!!

I will go first.

I have had CRK with Bocote, Camel Thorne, American Walnut Burl, Cocobolo, Ironwood, Jigged Madagascar Rosewood and I have a Lignum Vitae on the way.

Will post the Lignum Vitae when it arrives.

Probably Mesquite.

You know, was going to say Box Elder (and I do love it) due to the really different grains and colors of the wood ...... but LW reminded me of how much I love Mesquite. Searched for quite some time before I found my Mesquite Mnandi and, coincidentally .... whenever I open the Mnandi drawer ..... this is usually the first one I pick up to admire. I think it is because I had such an up close and personal relationship with Mesquite while living in Texas.

I like many of the wood inlays, but I seem to buy Box Elder the most as I have a hard time resisting the beauty of it:

I personally like Box Elder, but Snakewood comes in 2nd (although someone has a wood that looks like SW, but cooler, and that is really nice).

Wow, that box elder looks great.

Anyone have pics of Snake Wood or Brazilian Rose wood inlays? I'd like to see how they compare to opinels.

ETA:mwschilling, that honduran rosewood looks pretty nice too, got more pics at different angles or lighting?

Here's my Honduran Rosewood: Oops, I see now you're looking for Brazilian, not Honduran.

Lignum Vitae if it has the right grain ... Box Elder, Snakewood and Amboyna are close seconds (either of them).

Here's a cool Amboyna ...

I think my favorite wood is the Honduran Rosewood. The picture shows three of my Mnandis with a Mammoth Ivory that just happened to be in the photo.

This is the back side of the Mnandis with clips removed.

These are my Inlay Large Sebenzas. Honduran Rosewood, Box Elder, and again a Mammoth Ivory that just happened to tag along.

Not too bad a match up on that Honduran Rosewood Sebenza, which seems to be typical and a nice touch. :)

Wow. Sierra Vista used to be famous for their steaks and tumbleweeds, Desert Hermit, now they are famous for steaks, tumbleweeds, and CRKs.

Desert Ironwood for sure. One of the hardest woods in the world, beautiful deep colors, and I love the way it flouresces in the sunlight. Second would be (dark) ebony.

And don't forget the mesquite and rattlesnakes, or the scenic new Border fence!! A few CRK's sure don't hurt anything either. :D

When you were here was my good friend Jon Carpenter, of "Trapper Jon's Knives", 175 Fry Blvd., (up near the main gate), here then? :)

At Machine26, I posted a couple better pics on another thread. Traveling back from the Dallas knife expo today so can't put them up here. If anyone interested I may sell or trade my Small Sebe with HR next week on this forum. Upgraded to Platinum member and waiting for status change.
