Trying to get some ideas on which Dozier to get.
What's your fav and with what style sheath?
How many do you own?
What's their primary use?

My favorite Dozier is the K-4. It's the one I own... It has Bob's outstanding convex grind and I carry it in his wilderness sheath. I use it for everything. It is my EDC. I've cut all types of food, wood, trimmed my shrubs, and I hope to use it to proccess my deer with this year. It is easy to maintain and the Doziers are a pleasure to deal with. I'm looking for another to buy just because I like the quality and service. If I never own another the K-4 will always be one of my prized knives. This is absolutely the cuttingest knife I have ever owned or handled. At Bob's prices you can afford to own more than one. Good Luck

I've got a stag handled K-4 and a black micarta handled convex ground K-1. My favorite is the K-4. The handle is supremely comfortable, and the blade is....... perfect. Bob's hollow grinds and D2 heat treatment are awe inspiring. Keep in mind that I'm a nut for cutting efficiency and pointy tips. I’m not the kind of guy who uses his knife for a prybar or screwdriver. My K-4 always rides in a Dozier Wilderness style sheath, which is a miracle of sheath design. If medium-sized fixed blades were generally acceptable for public carry, it might be the only utility knife I own. It’s that good.

Buzz:

You are a lucky man!

Every time you post a pic of your Straight Hunter I start salivating. Besides Bob's miracle metal work, those have got to be the most gorgeous stag slabs ever to grace a piece of steel!

I own more Doziers than any maker.

Favorite model...tough question. It's a toss up between the Slim Outdoorsman and Straight Personal. Both are small and unobtrusive but up to any task I give them.

Favorite sheath...for me it's Bob's horizontal carry. Easy access whether I'm sitting, squatting, stooping or standing. Never in the way but always there.

I only have one Dozier, but it is my favorite of all my fixed blades. Here's a picture of my Texas Six.

This is a variation on Bob's old #6 model. I had the blade extended to 5-1/2" and dual guards added. Of course, Bob integrated my requests into his original design with his usual elegance. His new "Freedom Fighter" model seems to have evolved from my Six.

This knife has exceeded all of my expectations. It has great balance, cuts better than any other blade I've used, and still manages to be nearly indestructible. I couldn't ask for a more useful or hard-working tool.

My knife originally came with one of Bob's vertical belt sheaths, which works beautifully for outdoor activities. Later I had Bob make a horizontal cross-draw sheath too. With the new sheath I can wear my Six even around town in comfort and without attracting much attention. If I had to choose just one it would be the horizontal.

The good news is that you can't go wrong with whatever you pick. I'm sure that Bob has never shipped a bad knife.

Of the ones that I have had the opportunity to handle or use the K1-General Utility is my favorite, but the Classic Series and the new Wilderness Knife look really good. I especially like the look of the Slim Hunter and the Wilderness Knife.

I have the following Doziers,a Toothpick,a K6 boot knife,a Reverse Tanto,a 4"Agent & a Burl handled mini boot! My favorite!! ALL OF THEM! HEE! Mostly carry the mini boot or TP in my pocket!

Companion K6 - I am going to buy it for my work knife - with that point it should be lethal on leather. I love the look of the 'simi skinner' - does anyone use one = what's it like?

No question. Of the dozen or so I own,the three inch Folding Hunter and modified Companion (single finger groove handle).
You will be amazed by the performance of any you choose.

In a word...OUTSTANDING!
I have one with the side sheath. Never in the way and readily accessible. Always with me camping and sometimes for city carry.
Your leather has no chance.

Cut safe.

I have a bone handled whittler (not on Bob's site, AG Russell offers it). Great little cutting machine. I also have a drop point made by him in 1991 that I got from Les Robertson. Don't know which one I like better. If I had the money, I'd get one of the Classic series.

You'll find 2 things to be true of Dozier knives.

1) Not everyone will agree on what model is their favorite.
2) Everyone will agree, their Doziers are either their favorite knives or one of their favorites.

I own a K1-General Utility and PGK. My K1 accompanies me on hikes and my PGK is my camping knife. Both are terribly sharp and sturdy enough for any of my needs. My favorite? Will have to say my PGK. Just love the way it looks, and feels in my hand. Sooo comfortable and well balanced.

Always loved Dozier knives I go to his site and droll now and than but I don't have that much cash in my knife buget. Really enjoying this thread though.

While many people consider Doziers to be very affordable, they are expensive to me. I knew I would probably only get one chance when a good chunk of disposable income came along so I selected very carefully. I chose the straight personal, and although it is a small knife for a fairly high price, I am 100% satisfied with it. The horizontal belt sheath is really something too.

So, that's my favorite. Not that I wouldn't like a Straight Hunter too, but they're basically priced out of my league.

I loved the look of that Steven Dick Wilderness Survival knife he made with the burgundy Micarta scales. It was in "Tactical Knives" magazine a couple years ago.

My favorite Dozier is my new Ranger. This is one big, but very useful knife. Would make a great camp or combat knife and, although pretty large and fairly heavy, it has a great balance.

I have his small utility blade in the horizontal cross draw sheath. Excellent buy, even when the price had gone up last year. One thing about the sheath is the clip placement - it is sort of on center of the sheathed knife. What this translates to is that no part of the knife really sticks out and prints when a tee shirt is over the belt and sheath. This, for me, is highly desireable and another reason to get a Dozier, besides the great knife.

If you ever go to a show that Bob is at, you will see a prolific quantity of knives on his display table. It's amazing the output this man does.
