What's your favorite one-piece CRK knife for the outdoors? For things like hiking, camping, bushcraft/woodcraft and even hunting if you're a hunter. I have tried the shadow III and IV so far and while I like both knives a lot, I would not prefer them for hiking, camping, bushcraft/woodcraft or hunting in particular. I think I want to try a higher grind for my next one piece CRK. Maybe an Ubejane or a Mountaineer. I'd 'really' prefer a high flat grind but hey... ya can't have everything right? ;) Whats your favorite and why?

The Ubejane is my favorite now that I finally got one last January. I like it because its handle is relatively long compared to its blade length; the blade itself is broad and stout; the spine is ribbed near the handle; and the blade itself when gripped by the spine fits my hand very well thus enabling a bit finer blade control under certain circumstances. I hope to confirm its usefuleness this fall on the deer hunt... The Mountaineer is a close second in my mind. I have the 4" model but I'd be happy with either I or II.

Shadow 7”, because for a very long time it was the only high quality knife I could afford. I learnt to do everything with it, and learnt a lot from using it. Now I have many more knives than I can use, but I frequently find myself picking up my old companion.

I'm hoping the Neil Roberts that should arrive next week will be great for the outdoors...that's where I bought it for.
Good ergonomics, 3/4 choil, micarta handle slabs, S30V steel ... mmm... :) :) (Not really a one-piece, but a CRK fixed blade)
Probably will get me another sheath from the same maker (Spec Ops). A black or OD 'survival' sheath. That one has an extra pouch for 'stuff'.

Ted the Neil Roberts knife comes with the Blackhawk sheath that has the extra pocket.

Scott, the CRK website mentions that it comes with the 'tan Combat Master by SpecOps Brand TM' - therefore I was thinking to get a 'Survival Sheath' from the same series...
Is the website wrong?

My outdoor knife of choice is the Mountaineer II .I carry it hiking, canoeing, hunting, fishing and camping. I love the way it handles. I use it for all my outdoor chores.
